Congratulations to SLS alumna Dr. Anna Mendoza (2020), who has been hired as a tenure-track research Assistant Professor in the Department of Linguistics at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign!
Dr. Anna Mendoza graduated from the PhD in SLS in 2020.聽After working as a tenure-track research Assistant Professor at the University of Hong Kong (2020-22), she joined the Department of Linguistics at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in the same capacity in Fall 2022, specializing in sociolinguistics and TESL.聽Dr. Mendoza has published in聽System, Foreign Language Annals,聽补苍诲听Modern Language Journal, and has a book forthcoming from Multillingual Matters in 2023 titled聽Translanguaging in the Plurilingual, English-as-a Lingua Franca Classroom, based on her dissertation research in Hawai’i. She hopes to do her next linguistic ethnography in a French-English dual language program in Urbana-Champaign.
