On March 13, 2026, March 31, 2026, and April 9, 2026, the Council delivered to Governor Josh Green's office a list of candidates for possible appointment to two Honolulu County seats, one Student Regent seat, and on Hawaii Island seat, respectively, on the University of Hawaiʻi Board of Regents.
A list of five candidates for the Honolulu County seat, three candidates for the Student Regent seat, and three candidates for the Hawaii Island seat was provided, from which individuals may be nominated by the Governor for appointment to the BOR effective July 1, 2026, with consent of the Hawaiʻi State Senate, in accordance with statutory requirements.
