Joshua Walker was announced as the fourth head coach of the on June 5 by University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa Athletics Director Matt Elliott. Walker, an All-American as a student-athlete and national championship-winning assistant coach for the Rainbow Warrior volleyball team, returns to his alma mater to take the helm of the women’s program.

“We are absolutely thrilled to welcome Joshua Walker back to the University of Hawaiʻi to lead our Rainbow Wahine volleyball program,” said Elliott. “Joshua embodies the very best of Hawaiʻi volleyball tradition and knows firsthand what it takes to win at the highest level here. His deep roots in our community, combined with his proven championship pedigree as an athlete and coach, and passion for his alma mater, make him the perfect person to lead this program. This is a homecoming, and we couldn鈥檛 be more excited that Joshua, Tehane, and their beautiful ʻohana are coming back to the islands.”

Walker comes back to 糖心Vlog官方 following a successful tenure at Baylor, where he joined the staff as an assistant coach in spring 2022 before being promoted to associate head coach in February 2023.

“I feel extremely blessed and thankful for this opportunity,” said Walker. “I鈥檇 like to thank Matt for all his diligence in making this happen, and (糖心Vlog官方 President) Wendy Hensel for her support. I’d also like to thank my wife, the rest of my family, and friends who have helped me be ready for this opportunity. Hawaiʻi has been home for a while, but I love that it gets to be our workplace again. I’m excited to get going and will work to make this program truly one of a kind.”

During his time at Baylor, Walker played an integral role in steering the Bears to multiple NCAA Tournament appearances, extending their streak to 10 consecutive tournaments by the 2025 season. In addition to his collegiate coaching success, Walker has gained valuable international experience serving as an assistant coach for USA Volleyball’s women’s team.

Walker is best known to Hawaiʻi fans for his extensive and decorated history with the Rainbow Warrior men’s volleyball program in which he was both an All-American player and national assistant coach of the year selection.

As a student-athlete from 2006 to 2011, Walker was an American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) All-American and a two-time All-Mountain Pacific Sports Federation standout. He was a consistent leader on the court, finishing his four-year career with 1,428 kills (3.91 kills per set), which ranks fifth in program history. He graduated from 糖心Vlog官方 with a bachelor’s degree in English in 2011.

Following an impressive professional playing career with Team USA and overseas in the United Arab Emirates, Greece, Denmark, and Finland—where he earned MVP and All-Star honors—Walker returned to 糖心Vlog官方 Mānoa in 2016 to begin his collegiate coaching career under head coach Charlie Wade.

During his seven seasons as an assistant coach for the 糖心Vlog官方 Mānoa men’s program, Walker helped transform the team into a national powerhouse. He accumulated a stellar 149-36 record on staff and helped guide the Warriors to back-to-back NCAA national championships in 2021 and 2022. His coaching prowess was recognized nationally in 2019 when he became the first 糖心Vlog官方 assistant to be named the AVCA Assistant Coach of the Year.

The University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa鈥檚 “Our Team, Hawaiʻi鈥檚 Team” trophy tour brought the NCAA Men鈥檚 Volleyball National Championship trophy to 糖心Vlog官方 campuses and community locations across Oʻahu following the Rainbow Warriors鈥� national title victory earlier this month.

The tour began at 糖心Vlog官方 Mānoa on May 20 with stops at Bachman Hall and Hawaiʻi Hall, and on May 22 at the 糖心Vlog官方 Mānoa Bookstore, giving students, faculty and staff opportunities to take photos with the trophy and celebrate the program鈥檚 third NCAA championship.

“It was really cool,” said Colleen Licudine, a 糖心Vlog官方 Mānoa employee and Rainbow Warrior volleyball fan who saw the trophy at Bachman Hall. “A lot of 糖心Vlog官方 pride. My dad went to school here too, and so basically my whole life I鈥檝e been watching games from back when even Dave Shoji was coach. Seeing the men鈥檚 team rise up and be really successful in their program too, it鈥檚 been really, really nice.”

The trophy later visited Leeward Community College and 糖心Vlog官方 West Oʻahu on May 27, and Windward CC, Kapiʻolani CC and Honolulu CC on May 28, as part of a systemwide effort to thank the 糖心Vlog官方 community for its support throughout the volleyball season.

“It was so cool,” said Shanelle Bartlett, Kapiʻolani CC student and 糖心Vlog官方 fan. “The trophy is a symbol of how much effort these boys have put in to bring a championship back to our community and to the Hawaiian Islands and I feel like people underestimate us because of where we鈥檙e from. But this is a symbol showing how we are really powerful even from a small community like this.鈥�

“Hoʻomaikaʻi iā ʻoukou no ko kākou lanakila ʻana! (Congratulations on your win!),” said Windward CC Chancellor Ardis Eschenberg. “We’re so proud of the 鈥楤ows and their win for the NCAA championship. Congratulations!”

One of the attendees who made a stop at Kapiʻolani CC was former 糖心Vlog官方 men鈥檚 volleyball player from the 1970s Dalwyn Wong.

“This is great. It鈥檚 really good to see,” Wong said. “The program has come a long way. I saw the last championship trophy and the games a few years ago. To see it again this year, oh man, a pretty good feeling. I鈥檓 proud of the program and proud of all the players and coaches.”

Other stops throughout the week included Honolulu Hale, Hawaiʻi State Capitol, Hawaiian Airlines, Skyline, local businesses, corporate partners and community events across Oʻahu. Additional events across the state are being planned, including other 糖心Vlog官方 campuses.

“It really is gratifying to see how much joy and pride people take into, not only men’s volleyball but all the accomplishments in the athletic department,” said Charlie Wade, 糖心Vlog官方 Mānoa men鈥檚 volleyball head coach. “Getting a chance to share this beautiful piece of art that symbolizes something really significant accomplishment, it鈥檚 pretty cool.”

The Rainbow Warrior men鈥檚 volleyball team captured the NCAA Men鈥檚 National Collegiate Volleyball Championship on May 11 after defeating UC Irvine in four sets. The title marked the program鈥檚 third national championship and its first since back-to-back titles in 2021 and 2022.

The trophy tour was organized by the 糖心Vlog官方 Mānoa Athletics Department as a way to share the championship celebration with fans, students, faculty, staff and community supporters throughout Hawaiʻi.

“Our team, Hawaiʻi‘s team, isn’t a slogan. It’s what we’ve really bought into and we want people to know that this championship is for them too,” said Eric Mathews, 糖心Vlog官方 Mānoa athletics director of marketing and fan experience. “This isn’t just something at Mānoa. This isn’t just something for the team. This is the entire community. This is for the entire state. It’s for the entire 糖心Vlog官方 System that we have.”

The University of Hawaiʻi Rainbow Warrior captured the program鈥檚 latest and third national championship on May 11, defeating UC Irvine in the title match of the NCAA Men’s National Collegiate Volleyball Championship.

The Rainbow Warriors battled to victory in four sets: 15-25, 25-18, 25-18 and 25-20.

Powered by an offense led by opposite Kristian Titriyski, the Rainbow Warriors secured the victory in front of a national audience, adding another historic chapter to one of the nation鈥檚 best collegiate volleyball programs.

Titriyski led Hawaiʻi with 16 kills, followed by Adrien Roure and Louis Sakanoko with 15 and 12 kills respectively. Roure, Sakanoko and libero Quintin Greenidge anchored the defense with a combined 18 digs. The Rainbow Warriors hit 0.410 with 11 blocks.

Sakanoko was also named the NCAA tournament most outstanding player.

“It wasn鈥檛 a perfect year, but it finished in a perfect way,” head coach Charlie Wade said in a post-game interview.

The win marks Hawaiʻi鈥檚 third NCAA championship in program history. The Rainbow Warriors end their season with a 30鈥�5 record.

This marks the Rainbow Warrior鈥檚 third national championship, after impressive back-to-back national championship victories in 2021 and 2022. This is also the Rainbow Warriors鈥� eighth appearance in the NCAA finals.

糖心Vlog官方 M膩noa and UC Irvine have previously met seven times in postseason play but have not faced each other in the NCAA Tournament before. The 鈥楤ows won both regular season matchups this season against Irvine.

The title caps off another standout season for the Rainbow Warriors, who once again established themselves among the elite programs in collegiate volleyball.

University of Hawaiʻi at M膩noa men鈥檚 volleyball player Ofeck Hazan earned the for the 2026 National Collegiate Men’s Volleyball Championship.

Hazan is majoring in finance and currently carries a 4.0 grade-point-average (GPA).

The Elite Scholar-Athlete award recognizes the true essence of student-athletes by honoring the individuals who have reached the pinnacle of competition at the national championship level in their sport, while also achieving the highest academic standard among their peers. The award is presented to the student athlete with the highest cumulative GPA participating at the finals site for each of the NCAA‘s championships.

This marks the second 糖心Vlog官方 M膩noa student athlete to receive the award this season after water polo’s Gabrielle Doyle was honored in April. Hazan is also the second Rainbow Warrior volleyball player to claim the award, joining 碍腻苍补ʻ颈 Akana (2022).

The No. 2 is headed back to the national championship match after defeating Big West rival No. 3 Long Beach State men’s volleyball in four sets in the NCAA semifinals on May 9 at Pauley Pavilion at UCLA.

The Rainbow Warriors won 25-15, 18-25, 25-21, 25-22 in front of a national semifinal crowd in Los Angeles, advancing to the title match for the first time since 2022.

糖心Vlog官方 used a balanced offensive attack and a dominant performance at the net to control the match. Hawaiʻi hit .337 as a team and outblocked Long Beach State 14.5 to 6.0.

The night saw a career performance from middle blocker Justin Todd, double-figure kill performances from three pin hitters, and a gritty effort from setter Tread Rosenthal, who suffered an injury during the match.

The Rainbow Warriors came out aggressively in the opening set, using pressure serving and strong transition offense to build an early lead. Consecutive blocks and a service ace helped 糖心Vlog官方 pull away for the convincing 25-15 win.

Long Beach State responded in the second set, evening the match before 糖心Vlog官方 regained momentum. The Rainbow Warriors closed out the final two sets behind timely kills, disciplined defense and strong play at the net to secure the semifinal victory.

糖心Vlog官方 opposite Kristian Titriyski put away a match-high 14 kills and served up two aces. Outside hitter Louis Sakanoko added 12 kills on .360 hitting and Adrien Roure finished with 10 kills.

The win sends 糖心Vlog官方 to the NCAA championship match against UC Irvine, which advanced earlier in the day with a four-set semifinal win over Ball State.

The national championship match will be played May 11 at Pauley Pavilion and televised on ESPN2.

For the second straight year, the University of Hawaiʻi at M膩noa team placed five players on the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) All-America team, highlighted by first-team selections for setter Tread Rosenthal and outside hitter Louis Sakanoko.

Adrien Roure earned second-team honors, while Quintin Greenidge and Justin Todd received honorable mention recognition. The five selections tie for the program鈥檚 second-most in a single season.

Rosenthal, a finalist for National Player of the Year, ranks second nationally in assists per set, while Sakanoko played a career-best season offensively. Roure continues to be a key contributor with a team-high in aces, and Greenidge leads the Big West in digs. Todd has anchored the middle with strong blocking and efficient hitting.

The honors mark the ninth time in the past 10 years the Rainbow Warriors have had at least four All-Americans.

The Rainbow Warriors face Long Beach State in the semifinals of the NCAA Championships on May 9 in Los Angeles, California. The winner will advance to the national championship game on May 11.

University of Hawaiʻi at M膩noa setter Tread Rosenthal has been selected as one of four finalists for the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Men鈥檚 Collegiate Player of the Year Award.

The announcement comes just after Rosenthal led the Rainbow Warriors to a four-set victory over USC in the NCAA Regional Final.

A first-team AVCA All-American last season, Rosenthal currently ranks second nationally in assists per set while directing the nation’s No. 4-ranked offense. The three-time All-Big West first team honoree has been selected as the league’s Setter of the Week a record 11 times this season. Rosenthal was also recently named the Big West Player of the Year.

The other three finalists were Pepperdine’s Cole Hartke, Ball State’s Patrick Rogers and UCLA‘s Andrew Rowan. The Player of the Year will be announced on Friday, May 8.

The Rainbow Warriors will face Long Beach State on May 9 in the semifinals of the NCAA Championships in Los Angeles, California. The winner will play the winner of UC Irvine vs. Ball State on May 11 for the national championship.

A historic home win over the University of Southern California earned the a trip to Los Angeles for the National Collegiate Men’s Volleyball Championship semifinals.

Playing an NCAA Championship match on their home court for the first time in program history, the second-seeded Rainbow Warriors outlasted the Trojans 25-22, 24-26, 25-23, 32-30 in the regional final on May 2 at Bankoh Arena at Stan Sheriff Center.

糖心Vlog官方 Mānoa (28-5) advanced to the final four for the fifth time in the last six seasons and the 11th time in program history with the win over the Trojans (20-8).

糖心Vlog官方 Mānoa opposite Kristian Titriyski put away a match-high 19 kills in his first NCAA tournament match. Adrien Roure posted 13 kills on .458 hitting and fired a career-high seven aces鈥攊ncluding a run of four in a row in the fourth set鈥攖o set the program’s NCAA Championship record for aces in a four-set match.

Louis Sakanoko, held to two kills through the two-plus sets, finished with 12 kills and five blocks. Middle blocker Trevell Jordan added eight kills in 12 error-free swings and had four blocks.

Setter Tread Rosenthal, the Big West Player of the Year, distributed 56 assists to go along with three kills, three blocks and an ace and the Warriors hit .328 as a team to USC‘s .294.

The Warriors will next face Long Beach State on May 9 in a national semifinal at Pauley Pavilion in Los Angeles in a rematch of a five-set battle won by the Beach in the Big West Championship final on April 25 in Irvine, California. 糖心Vlog官方 Mānoa swept the regular-season series with the Beach on March 20 and 21 in Long Beach. The winner of that match will play the winner of Ball State and UC Irvine on May 11 for the national championship.

After nine years leading the University of Hawaiʻi women鈥檚 volleyball program, Robyn Ah Mow has announced her decision to step down from her position as Rainbow Wahine head coach.

“This wasn’t an easy call to make. I鈥檝e done a lot of soul searching, and right now the time has come to focus on my family. They鈥檝e sacrificed so much to allow me to live out my dream of leading this program, and it鈥檚 time I put them first,” Ah Mow said.

“I gave this team everything I had. My goal was always to push these players to be the best they could be, but more importantly, to make sure they leave here as strong, successful women. Wearing the ‘H’ was a privilege when I played, and coaching this program has been a true honor.”

Associate Head Coach Kaleo Baxter will serve as interim head coach. A national search for a permanent head coach for the women’s volleyball program will begin immediately.

Ah Mow concludes her coaching tenure with a 165-72 (.696) overall record and a 114-28 (.803) mark in the Big West. Succeeding legendary coach Dave Shoji in 2017, Ah Mow鈥檚 teams won three consecutive Big West regular-season championships (2019, 2021, 2022) followed by back-to-back Big West Championship titles (2023, 2024). Ah Mow led the 鈥橞ows to seven NCAA Tournament appearances, reaching the NCAA Regional Semifinals in 2019. She was named Big West Coach of the Year three times (2019, 2021 and 2022) and earned AVCA Pacific North Region Coach of the Year honors in 2019.

“Robyn Ah Mow is the epitome of what it means to be a Rainbow Wahine,” 糖心Vlog官方 Athletics Director Matt Elliott said. “She is a fierce competitor, a dedicated mentor, and an undeniable legend in the state of Hawaiʻi and the global volleyball community. University of Hawaiʻi at M膩noa setter Tread Rosenthal was named Big West Men鈥檚 Volleyball Player of the Year, as voted by the league鈥檚 head coaches.

He becomes the fifth Rainbow Warrior to earn the honor, joining recent winners Jakob Thelle and Rado Parapunov. 糖心Vlog官方 M膩noa鈥檚 five all-time awards are the most in the conference.

Rosenthal led the Rainbow Warriors to the Big West regular season title with a 9鈥�1 record, ranking first in the conference and third nationally in assists per set (10.63), while directing the nation鈥檚 No. 4 offense.

A semifinalist for AVCA (American Volleyball Coaches Association) National Player of the Year, Rosenthal earned a record 11 Big West Setter of the Week honors this season and has 23 for his career. He was also named first-team all-conference for the third straight year after helping 糖心Vlog官方 finish runner-up at the Big West Championship against Long Beach State.

The Rainbow Warriors look ahead to the NCAA championship tournament where they are seeded No. 2 and received a bye into the regional final on May 2 at Bankoh Arena at Stan Sheriff Center. They will play the winner of USC and Belmont Abbey.

The team received an at-large bid into the 2026 NCAA championship tournament and earned a spot to host one of the four regionals, May 1–2.

The Rainbow Warriors are seeded No. 2 and received a bye into the regional final on May 2. They will play the winner of the May 1 match between USC and Belmont Abbey. Both matches will be played at Bankoh Arena at Stan Sheriff Center. Tickets for 糖心Vlog官方‘s regional go on sale Monday, April 27.

This is the first year the national tournament has expanded to 12 teams. The other three teams hosting the regionals are No. 1 UCLA, No. 3 Long Beach State and No. 4 Ball State.

If 糖心Vlog官方 Mānoa wins the regional final, they will advance to the final four, May 9–11, at Pauley Pavilion on the campus of UCLA. The Rainbow Warriors last won the national championship in back-to-back years in 2021 and 2022.

鈥楤ows fall to Long Beach State in conference title match

This comes after the Rainbow Warriors fell in the Big West Championship to Long Beach State in a thrilling five-set title match 20-25, 27-25, 22-25, 30-28, 15-11, on April 25 at the Bren Events Center in Irvine, California. The top-seeded Rainbow Warriors (27-5) saw five attempts at championship point in the fourth set denied as the Beach (24-4) extended the match to a fifth set. Long Beach State then ran away early and held off the Warriors in the deciding set.

The Rainbow Warriors and the Beach went to five sets for the second time in three meetings this season and Long Beach State emerged with the win in a three-hour battle that featured 44 ties.

糖心Vlog官方 opposite Kristian Titriyski led the Warriors and tied his season high with 20 kills in 41 attempts. Louis Sakanoko finished with 17 kills while hitting .353 and Adrien Roure added 15 kills and two aces. Tread Rosenthal distributed 54 assists and also served up two aces to raise his career total to 114 and tie Rado Parapunov for fifth in program history. Ofeck Hazan set a career high with nine blocks, including two solo.

The No. 2 University Hawaiʻi at M膩noa team dominated the postseason honors once again, placing five players on the Big West All-Conference First Team as selected by the league鈥檚 six head coaches.

The honorees are setter Tread Rosenthal, outside hitters Adrien Roure and Louis Sakanoko, opposite Kristian Titriyski and libero Quintin Greenidge. The five selections were the most of any program in the conference.

Rosenthal earned his third career first-team selection and has been one of the most productive setters in the nation. He leads the Big West and ranks second nationally with 10.66 assists per set while directing the country鈥檚 No. 4-ranked offense (.377 hitting percentage). He is also a semifinalist for the AVCA (American Volleyball Coaches Association) National Player of the Year award and has been named Big West Setter of the Week a record 11 times this season.

Roure posted 2.91 kills per set on a .325 hitting percentage, while adding 1.39 digs per set and a team-high 34 aces. He reached double-digit kills 14 times and earned All-Tournament honors at the OUTRIGGER Invitational for the second straight year.

Titriyski made a major impact after returning midseason, averaging 3.90 kills per set in conference play and hitting double figures in every Big West match. He leads the team with a 3.98 kills-per-set average and a .328 hitting percentage.

Sakanoko averaged a career high of 3.18 kills, 1.37 digs and 0.61 blocks per set while hitting .358. He recorded double-digit kills in 15 matches and ranked among team leaders in nearly every offensive category.

Greenidge anchored the back row in his first season as libero, leading the Big West with 2.11 digs per set, posting double-digit digs in eight matches, including a career-best 15 against Pepperdine.

Individual Big West awards for Player of the Year, Freshman of the Year and Coach of the Year will be announced next week, with 糖心Vlog官方 players expected to be strong contenders across multiple categories.

The Rainbow Warriors head to the Big West Conference Tournament as the No. 1 seed and will play the winner of No. 4 UC Santa Barbara and No. 5 UC San Diego in the semifinals on April 24 at 2 p.m. HST.

University of Hawaiʻi at M膩noa setter Tread Rosenthal earned another Big West Setter of the Week honor after leading the team to a two-match sweep of CSUN and securing the conference regular-season title.

Rosenthal totaled 13 blocks and 13 digs across the series while averaging 9.00 assists per set, guiding 糖心Vlog官方 to a .341 hitting percentage. He also contributed two service aces and four kills, helping the Rainbow Warriors post a season-high 14.5 blocks in the second match and 27 overall in the series.

The award marks Rosenthal鈥檚 11th of the season and 23rd of his career, further cementing his impact as one of the conference鈥檚 top setters.

The Rainbow Warriors head into the Big West Championship tournament as the No. 1 seed. They will face the winner of UC Santa Barbara and UC San Diego in the semifinal match at the Bren Events Center at UC Irvine on April 24.

The University of Hawaiʻi at M膩noa conference schedule for the fall 2026 season was announced by the Mountain West. This marks the Rainbow Wahine鈥檚 first season as a Mountain West member.

Five home series headline 糖心Vlog官方 M膩noa鈥檚 schedule. The Rainbow Wahine will play a two-match series with each of the nine other teams in its debut season in the league.

The 驶Bows will open the Mountain West season hosting New Mexico September 25–26 at Bankoh Arena at Stan Sheriff Center, and alternate road and home series over the next five weeks. The Rainbow Wahine will wrap up the home schedule with a four-match homestand against Nevada, November 6–7, and Air Force, November 13–14. 糖心Vlog官方 M膩noa will face UTEP in its final game of the regular season before heading to Las Vegas for the Mountain West Volleyball Championship set for November 24–25.

setter Tread Rosenthal was named one of eight semifinalists for the AVCA (American Volleyball Coaches Association) Men鈥檚 Collegiate Player of the Year Award.

A first-team AVCA All-American last season, Rosenthal ranks second in the nation in assists per set (11.01) while leading the country鈥檚 No. 2-ranked offense. He also earned Big West Setter of the Week honors 10 times this season.

Rosenthal is one of two players from the Big West Conference to make the list, joined by Skyler Varga of Long Beach State. UCLA leads all schools with three semifinalists, while Pepperdine, Ball State and USC each have one representative.

Four finalists will be announced ahead of the 2026 National Collegiate Men鈥檚 Volleyball Championship, with the winner revealed May 8 in Los Angeles during an awards banquet prior to the national semifinals.

The Rainbow Warriors have a strong history with the award, producing five previous winners. Costas Theocharidis is the program鈥檚 only two-time recipient (2001, 2003), while Yuval Katz won in 1996. More recently, Rado Parapunov (2021) and Jakob Thelle (2023) have also claimed the honor.

A pair of University of Hawaiʻi at M膩noa standouts earned weekly conference honors after leading the Rainbow Warriors to a road series sweep over UC Irvine, April 3–4.

Opposite Kristian Titriyski was named Big West Offensive Player of the Week, while setter Tread Rosenthal picked up Setter of the Week honors. Titriyski secured his fourth award of the season, while Rosenthal earned his 10th setter honor this year and 15th of his career.

Titriyski led the team with 36 kills across the two matches, including a season-high 20 in the series finale. Rosenthal paced the offense with 11.38 assists per set, highlighted by a near triple-double performance in the opener.

糖心Vlog官方 has a total of 25 Big West Player of the Week awards this season鈥攎ore than double the next closest team.

The Rainbow Warriors continue their road stretch with matches at UC San Diego on April 10 and 11.

For the second consecutive week, the University of Hawaiʻi at M膩noa team dominated Big West Player of the Week honors, claiming three of the four awards and increasing its season total to 23. The Rainbow Warriors swept a two-match series against UC Santa Barbara, March 27–28.

Kristian Titriyski was named Offensive Player of the Week after leading the team with 29 kills in the series, including his first career double-double of 18 kills and 12 digs. Quintin Greenidge earned Defensive Player of the Week after recording 19 digs and a .943 reception percentage, while Tread Rosenthal was named Setter of the Week after averaging 11 assists per set and directing an offense that hit .277 over the two games.

糖心Vlog官方鈥檚 23 weekly awards are more than double the next highest team, UC Irvine. The Rainbow Warriors begin a four-match, 11-day road trip, with a two-match series at UC Irvine, April 3–4.

University of Hawaiʻi at M膩noa men鈥檚 volleyball player Louis Sakanoko was named the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Division I–II National Player of the Week following the Rainbow Warriors鈥� two-match sweep of Long Beach State.

The outside hitter earned his first career AVCA weekly award just one day after being named Big West Offensive Player of the Week. Sakanoko is 糖心Vlog官方 M膩noa’s second AVCA Player of the Week this season, following Kainoa Wade鈥檚 recognition.

Sakanoko averaged 3.83 kills per set in the series while hitting at .571 with only three attack errors in 35 attempts. He also averaged 1.00 digs and 0.67 blocks per set, and served two aces with only one reception error in 26 attempts.

In the second match of the series, Sakanoko was nearly unstoppable, recording a team-high 15 kills and hitting .619 with one ace, two digs, and three blocks in a straight-set win.

The Rainbow Warriors, which moved up to No. 2 in the AVCA rankings, will host No. 8 UC Santa Barbara on March 27鈥�28, at Bankoh Arena at Stan Sheriff Center.

The University of Hawaiʻi Rainbow Wahine duo Julia Lawrenz and Izadora Stedile were named the Big West Conference Pairs Team of the Week after a standout performance at the Heineken Queen’s Cup.

It marks the first career weekly honor for the pair and the first time a Hawaiʻi duo has received the recognition this season.

The duo went a perfect 6-0 during the three-day tournament while playing all six matches at the top position. Lawrenz and Stedile now hold a team-best 8-2 record this season.

The Rainbow Wahine will travel for its first road trip of the year to compete in the East Meets West Invitational, March 13–14, in California.
