AVCA Player of the Year Finalist graphic

University of Hawaiʻi at 惭ā苍辞补 setter Tread Rosenthal has been selected as one of four finalists for the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Men’s Collegiate Player of the Year Award.

The announcement comes just after Rosenthal led the Rainbow Warriors to a four-set victory over USC in the NCAA Regional Final.

A first-team AVCA All-American last season, Rosenthal currently ranks second nationally in assists per set while directing the nation’s No. 4-ranked offense. The three-time All-Big West first team honoree has been selected as the league’s Setter of the Week a record 11 times this season. Rosenthal was also recently named the Big West Player of the Year.

The other three finalists were Pepperdine’s Cole Hartke, Ball State’s Patrick Rogers and UCLA‘s Andrew Rowan. The Player of the Year will be announced on Friday, May 8.

The Rainbow Warriors will face Long Beach State on May 9 in the semifinals of the NCAA Championships in Los Angeles, California. The winner will play the winner of UC Irvine vs. Ball State on May 11 for the national championship.
