University of Hawaiʻi at M膩noa player Adriano Dzhenev was named the Big West Player of the Week after a strong showing against UC Santa Barbara and Cal Poly.

This marks Dzhenev鈥檚 first conference weekly honor and the third for Rainbow Warrior tennis this season.

In doubles action, Dzhenev and partner Kent Mueller clinched the doubles point against UC Santa Barbara on March 26. The pair then played at the No. 2 spot for the first time this season against Cal Poly on March 28. Dzhenev and Mueller were leading 6鈥�5 when the doubles point was clinched elsewhere, leaving their match unfinished but in a winning position.

The Rainbow Warriors will face UC Davis on April 10 at 糖心Vlog官方 Tennis Complex.

University of Hawaiʻi at M膩noa women鈥檚 tennis player Grete Gull was named Big West Player of the Week. Gull was the lone Rainbow Wahine to win both her singles and doubles matches as the Rainbow Wahine defeated Long Beach State, 5鈥�2 on February 28.

This marks the first career weekly conference award for Gull, and the first for Rainbow Wahine tennis this season. Gull plays both No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles with partner Sophie Rachor. Gull won her singles match over Cecilia Costa in three sets, propelling the 鈥楤ows to a win over Long Beach State.

University of Hawaiʻi at M膩noa tennis player Timothy Li earned Big West Player of the Week honors after going 2-0 in both singles and doubles in three road matches. This is Li鈥檚 first career weekly award.

In 糖心Vlog官方 M膩noa鈥檚 Big West opener at UC Riverside, Li defeated Ivaylo Simeonov in straight sets on the No. 2 singles court. At Northern Arizona, Li paired with Kosuke Nakanishi to earn a 6-0 decision against Vincent Vohl and Takumi Katsuda in No. 1 doubles.

In a battle at Grand Canyon, Li and Nakanishi took down Daniel Jankoski and Brice Patoux in a tiebreaker in No. 1 doubles. Li also got the win in No. 2 singles in straight sets over Andreas Loizas.

University of Hawaiʻi at M膩noa player Azuma Visaya earned the first Big West Player of the Week award for 2026. The recognition marks Visaya’s fourth career weekly conference honor.

The Rainbow Warrior recorded a 2鈥�1 record on the No. 1 singles court while going 1鈥�2 in No. 2 doubles. Visaya opened the season against 15th-ranked UC Berkeley by edging out Fryderyk Lechno-Wasiutynski in a third-set super tie-breaker. With the match tied at a set apiece and the team match already in hand, Visaya jumped out to a 5鈥�0 lead in the super tie-breaker and traded points down the stretch to win 10鈥�5.

In 糖心Vlog官方 M膩noa鈥檚 second match of the season, Visaya defeated Gonzaga’s Giovanni Branchetti in straight sets, 6鈥�1, 6鈥�4.

The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) announced both University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo and teams as ITA All-Academic Teams for the 2024–25 school year. Both Vulcans teams finished the spring semester with team grade point averages (GPAs) of at least 3.20.

Additionally, eight 糖心Vlog官方 Hilo tennis players earned ITA Scholar-Athlete recognition for achieving a 2024–25 GPA of at least 3.50.

Four University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo Vulcan tennis players earned spots on the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team for excellence in both academics and athletics. Honorees must have a GPA of 3.5 or higher, have at least a sophomore standing and meet competition criteria.

The University of Hawaiʻi at M膩noa had four earn All-Big West honors. Ana Vilcek earned All-Big West first team honors in singles and honorable mention with doubles partner Nikola Homolkova. Peppi Ramstedt was selected as an honorable mention recipient in both singles and doubles with partner Sheena Masuda.

Vilcek, a four-year starter, earned All-Big West honors for the fourth-consecutive season. This is her second-straight season being voted to the All-Big West First Team. She finished with a team-best 11-3 dual match record.

Vilcek and Homolkova paired together for all but one doubles match this season. They posted a 7-7 record this season. It is the fourth-straight season that Homolkova has earned All-Big West honors.

The duo of Ramstedt and Masuda recorded a team-best 9-6 record in doubles playing the last 15 matches at No. 1. Ramstedt and Masuda won four of their last six decisions. For Masuda, it is the third time earning All-Big West doubles honors.

Ramstedt finished with an 8-9 record for the season and was named Big West Player of the Week for the second time. This is the first time Ramstedt has earned Big West honors in singles.

Two University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo Vulcans were named to the 2025 All-PacWest Teams, which were announced on April 16 at the annual Pacific West Conference Championships banquet.

糖心Vlog官方 Hilo redshirt-sophomore Jaime Paquet was selected as Newcomer of the Year and the All-PacWest Singles First Team after going 14-3. At one point in the season, Paquet had claimed 12 consecutive victories, including a three-set win over PacWest Player of the Year Elias Emilio Walter of Azusa Pacific.

Paquet joined the Vulcans in fall 2023 but was sidelined for all of the 2024 season. He is currently ranked No. 42 in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Collegiate Rankings.

On the , fifth-year senior McKenna Mountain (11-6) was voted to the All-PacWest Singles Team. Mountain was previously selected to the All-PacWest Third Team in 2023.

Mountain started the season on a five match win streak and later appeared at No. 41 in the ITA Rankings.

University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo tennis players Jaime Paquet and McKenna Mountain continue to earn recognition as they placed among the top 75 singles ranking released by Intercollegiate Tennis Association earlier this week.

Paquet of the men鈥檚 team and Mountain of the women鈥檚 team have predominantly spent their singles matches playing on court 1, posting overall records of 14-3 and 11-6, respectively.

Paquet moved up seven spots to No. 44 in the latest poll. Mountain re-entered the rankings at No. 70.

Both Vulcans teams finished their regular season last weekend and will head to Arizona for the PacWest Championships.

University of Hawaiʻi at M膩noa player Ana Vilcek earned her third career Big West Player of the Week honor after going 2-0 against No. 51 Cal Poly and No. 50 University of California, Santa Barbara.
Vilcek鈥檚 week was highlighted by recording the biggest upset of her four-year 糖心Vlog官方 career鈥攄efeating University of California, Santa Barbara鈥檚 10th-ranked player in the nation on March 29.

In singles action, Vilcek opened the week on Wednesday, March 26 by nearly shutting out 50th-ranked Cal Poly鈥檚 Kennedy Buntrock, 6-1, 6-0.

On Hawaiʻi鈥檚 Senior Day vs. UC Santa Barbara, Vilcek, 糖心Vlog官方鈥檚 lone four-year senior, came through with the biggest win of her career, upending 10th-ranked Amelia Honer in a hard fought match that ended in a third set, super tie-breaker, 6-3, 5-7, 1-0 (10-8). Vilcek snapped Honer鈥檚 five-match win streak.
