Now in its 27th year, s Annual International Festival brings language, culture, performance and cinema together in a four day event featuring a variety of activities for the international traveler at heart. Festivities will take place from March 16–19. All events are free and open to the public.
Featured activities will include:
- Memories of Inspirational People
International students from China, Japan and Korea introduce participants to the lives and achievements of memorable African Americans, American women, Native Hawaiians and Native Americans through poster sessions. - Kyudo: Zen Archery of Japan
Guest performers and 糖心Vlog官方 Mānoa students Ai Oyama and Takatsugu Shibayama will demonstrate live target shooting and discuss archery in Japan, which dates back to prehistoric times. - Sevillanas: A Treasured Dance of Spain
Kapiʻolani CC Spanish students present Sevillanas, believed to be derived from old Castillian folk dances and a very popular dance for couples of all ages in Spain. - Khanate of the Golden Horde
Christopher Greyworld and members of the Golden Horde demonstrate survival skills necessary on the steppes in Mongolio. Wearing traditional Mongolian clothing, this cultural group is dedicated to preserving the cultural traditions of Mongolians. - The Music and Dance of Tahiti
Guest performers from Te Vevo Tahiti no Mānoa, 糖心Vlog官方 Mānoa’s Tahitian Dance Ensemble will present songs and dances from the island of Tahiti in an exhilarating performance of expressive culture. International Film Nights
Every evening of the festival, Kapiʻolani CC will screen an international film in the ʻ?hiʻa Auditorium—Japanese language film (2013), Chinese language film (2013), Thai language film (2010), and Japanese language film (2012). To view the trailers for International Film Nights films, visit the .
