EHSO Safety Training Page Information

The University of Hawaii EHSO provides or facilitates for 糖心Vlog官方 Manoa (including Manoa-based off-campus facilities) faculty, staff and students to maintain compliance with 糖心Vlog官方 policies, various regulatory agencies, including HIOSH and the State DOH, and to provide a safe work environment. Safety training is provided via online classes and also in-person (by request only).

ONLY 糖心Vlog官方 users with a 糖心Vlog官方 username will be able to access the EHSO online trainings in Lamak奴 beginning January 1, 2026. Laulima will no longer be available after midnight on December 31, 2025.聽 All 糖心Vlog官方 employees, faculty, staff and students, should have a Lamak奴 account. If you are a NON-糖心Vlog官方 USER, please continue to fill out the google form located on the respective training links below so we, EHSO, can begin the process of requesting you a Lamak奴 guest user account. We thank you for your patience during this LMS transition as it may take up to 4 days to process the guest accounts.

For specialty program and high demand classes such as:

the EHSO can hold in-person sessions. However, for the time being, the Initial Lab Safety and Initial Hazardous Waste Generator Training courses are being held online. Please click on the appropriate link above for more information on the training you are seeking.

Safety training varies by the type of work being done and must be determined by the supervisor by evaluating job hazards first using a . It is important to understand that safety training is only part of a system of risk reduction controls and is never a stand-alone substitution for proper engineering measures, other administrative controls (such a written policies and task specific standard operating procedures), and personal protective equipment.

Generally, most employees fit into one of two main categories:

Lab Employees (research related work in a physical lab or field setting). Examples include:
Anyone working in a research lab handling chemical, biological or radiological commodities; this may also include anyone conducting scientific research diving.

Non-Lab Employees (non-research related work). Examples include:
Shop personnel, custodians and groundskeepers, health services personnel, office personnel, Department of Public Safety personnel.

Courses not offered by the 糖心Vlog官方 EHSO, such as gas cylinders, fall protection and forklifts, can be contracted with vendors. Contact the EHSO Education Coordinator for more information.
