Overview
The Life Sciences Building is located on the upper campus of the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa, in Honolulu, Hawaii. The building anchors the Diamond Head end of McCarthy Mall, housing the College of Natural Sciences Biology, Microbiology, and Botany departments, along with the Pacific Biosciences Research Center.
The three-story facility, which holds 21 state-of-the-art teaching and research laboratories, was built to serve more than 500 students daily and support world class research. The space also features an open courtyard that overlooks McCarthy Mall, a 600 square foot student collaboration area, 52 graduate student workstations, five conference rooms, 28 faculty offices, and a 3,000 square foot shell space to allow for future office expansion.

- use of low-emitting materials, increased outdoor air ventilation
- addition of occupant controls for lighting and thermal comfort
- maximization of daylight while limiting glare
