The University of Hawaiʻi<\/span> at M\u0101noa<\/a> ranks as one of the nation\u2019s most diverse colleges and universities, according to the 2019 U.S. News & World Report<\/em><\/a>. 糖心Vlog官方<\/abbr> M\u0101noa came in eighth in the ranking, which is based on higher education campuses where undergraduates are most likely to encounter students from a different racial or ethnic background. There are more than 3,000 colleges and universities in the United States.<\/p>\n

“When we draw from a vast array of diverse backgrounds and life experiences, we have a more creative community,” said Michael Bruno<\/strong>, provost for the university\u2019s flagship campus. “We continue to seek new ways in which we can leverage that diversity to inform and enhance student academic success, growth and development. Diversity is a measurement of success as well as a driver of success.”<\/p>\n

Data was drawn from each institution\u2019s fall 2017 total undergraduate student body. The ethnic categories used in the calculations are non-Hispanic African-American, Hispanic, American Indian, Pacific Islander\/Native Hawaiian, Asian, non-Hispanic white and multiracial (two or more races). The proportion of minority students, excluding international students, and an overall mix of groups, were also considered in the ranking.<\/p>\n
