The Leeward <abbr title=\"Community College\">CC<\/abbr> community and general public are invited to meet the candidates, <strong>Jill Loveless<\/strong>, <strong>Carlos Penaloza<\/strong> and <strong>Suzette Robinson<\/strong>, on Friday, April 12, 2019, at open forums on the Leeward <abbr>CC<\/abbr> campus. The forums provide an opportunity for stakeholders to meet and learn more about the candidates and their perspectives on addressing current issues and leading Leeward <abbr>CC<\/abbr> into the future.<\/p>\n<h2>Open forum schedule<\/h2>\n<p>All public forums will be held April 12 in the Ka &#699;Imi &#699;Ike, Room <abbr>ED<\/abbr>-201<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>11 a.m.&#8211;12 p.m.&#8212;<strong>Carlos Penaloza<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>12:15&#8211;1:15 p.m.&#8212;<strong>Jill Loveless<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>1:30&#8211;2:30 p.m.&#8212;<strong>Suzette Robinson<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Candidates<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Jill Loveless<\/strong> is vice president of academic affairs at West Virginia Northern Community College in Wheeling, West Virginia. Prior to this role, she was accelerated certification for teachers coordinator at Wheeling Jesuit University, dean of instruction and chief academic officer at Mohave Community College and associate dean for humanities at Arizona Western College. Loveless has more than thirty years of experience in higher education as a faculty member and administrator. She holds a doctorate of philosophy from Capella University, master of arts in English from Middlebury College and a bachelor of science in education &#8211; speech communication from West Virginia University.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Carlos Penaloza<\/strong> is provost and chief academic officer at Saint Luke\u2019s College of Health Sciences in Kansas City, Missouri. Previously, he served as vice chancellor of instruction and chief academic officer at Metropolitan Community College in Kansas City; assistant vice president of academic affairs and acting dean of Mathematics, Science, Technology and Health at Schenectady County Community College; college dean, dean of health sciences, chair of healthcare administration and assistant\/associate professor of liberal arts and sciences &#8211; biology at Briarcliffe College. Penaloza has more than thirteen years of teaching and administrative experience in higher education institutions. He holds a doctor of philosophy in biology and master of philosophy in biology degree from the Graduate Center of University Center of the City University of New York, bachelor of arts in biology from the Queens College of the City University of New York and associate in science in liberal arts and sciences from Queensborough Community College of the City University of New York.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Suzette Robinson<\/strong> is interim chancellor of the University of <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Hawai&#699;i<\/span>\u2019s Leeward Community College in Pearl City, <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Hawai&#699;i<\/span>. Prior to this role, she was the director of academic programs for the <abbr title=\"University of Hawaii\">糖心Vlog官方<\/abbr> System Office of the Vice President for Community Colleges. At <abbr>糖心Vlog官方<\/abbr> Maui College, she served as vice chancellor for academic affairs, assistant dean of instruction, director of continuing education and training, interim dean of instruction, department chair liberal arts and learning center director. Robinson has more than forty years of experience in community colleges as a faculty member and administrator.
