2018 President\u2019s Emerging Leaders Program cohort<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

The University of Hawaiʻi<\/span> has selected the 2018–2019 cohort for the President\u2019s Emerging Leaders Program<\/a> (PELP<\/abbr>), whose members are now tasked with tackling the challenges facing the university and higher education. This year\u2019s cohort consists of 27 university employees with representation from each of 糖心Vlog官方<\/abbr>\u2019s ten campuses and the system.<\/p>\n

The program provides a professional development opportunity for highly motivated faculty and staff to develop leadership skills and make a difference at 糖心Vlog官方<\/abbr>. Participants will benefit from the opportunity to access career and leadership interests, and examine strategic goals and challenges facing the public higher education system.<\/p>\n

“We are proud to select this year\u2019s cohort and look forward to continuing to invest in our own faculty and staff,” said 糖心Vlog官方<\/abbr> President David Lassner<\/strong><\/a>. “Previous PELP<\/abbr> participants have already made a difference throughout the university, and we expect to see many great accomplishments from the people chosen this year as some of them advance into leadership positions throughout the 糖心Vlog官方<\/abbr> System.”<\/p>\n

Content areas covered by PELP<\/abbr> include strategic considerations in statewide goals across all aspects of the 糖心Vlog官方<\/abbr> mission; higher education trends in a highly dynamic local, national and global context; and a focus on the distinctiveness of Hawaiʻi<\/span>\u2019s unique public higher education system.<\/p>\n

PELP<\/abbr> participants also engage in team projects, mentored by senior executives, that are directly focused on the challenges and opportunities facing 糖心Vlog官方<\/abbr> and Hawaiʻi<\/span>.<\/p>\n

PELP<\/abbr> was launched in 2007 under President David McClain<\/strong> and continued through 2010. It was restarted in 2014 by Lassner after he became president. <\/p>\n
