Under the new agreement, Toyota <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Hawai&#699;i<\/span> will donate more than $80,000 worth of training aids to Leeward <abbr title=\"Community College\">CC<\/abbr>\u2019s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.leeward.hawaii.edu\/auto\">Automotive Technology Program<\/a> in the first year, with additional equipment to be added every year after. Students at Leeward <abbr>CC<\/abbr> will also be eligible to apply for a <abbr>T-TEP<\/abbr> scholarship, which includes a full scholarship for the student\u2019s remaining college education, a $2,000 tool kit, and part-time employment with Toyota <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Hawai&#699;i<\/span> as a technician apprentice.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;We\u2019d like to extend a sincere mahalo to Toyota <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Hawai&#699;i<\/span> for this exciting partnership,&rdquo; said <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/leadership\/manuel-cabral\/\">Manny Cabral<\/a><\/strong>, chancellor of Leeward <abbr>CC<\/abbr>. &ldquo;The high-level training opportunities, valuable student scholarships and generous donation of training tools will further enhance Leeward <abbr>CC<\/abbr>\u2019s Automotive Technology Program.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p><abbr>T-TEP<\/abbr> first started at Honolulu Community College\u2019s Automotive Technology Program in September 1991 and is supported by Toyota Motor Corp. and <a href=\"http:\/\/servco.com\/\">Servco Pacific Inc.<\/a>, the Toyota, Lexus and Subaru distributor for <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Hawai&#699;i<\/span>.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>The high-level training opportunities, valuable student scholarships and generous donation of training tools will further enhance Leeward <abbr>CC<\/abbr>\u2019s Automotive Technology Program.<br \/>\n&#8212;Manny Cabral<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>&ldquo;We are excited to expand our <abbr>T-TEP<\/abbr> Program to Leeward <abbr>CC<\/abbr>,&rdquo; said Glenn Inouye, senior vice president of Servco, representing Toyota <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Hawai&#699;i<\/span>. &ldquo;We have seen a lot of success at Honolulu <abbr>CC<\/abbr>, thanks to the dedicated instructors, and look forward to a long-term relationship with Leeward <abbr>CC<\/abbr> as well.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Since its inception in 1991, <abbr>T-TEP<\/abbr> has supported 47 students to graduation, with nearly half currently employed with Toyota <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Hawai&#699;i<\/span> dealerships. In addition, three former graduates are now instructors in University of <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Hawai&#699;i<\/span> Community Colleges. Currently, there are three scholarship students who are apprentice technicians employed at Servco.
