More than 1,400 business deans, educators and industry leaders from approximately 60 countries will be in Honolulu to the attend the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB<\/abbr>) International Conference and Annual Meeting (ICAM<\/abbr>), April 22–24, at the Hawaiʻi<\/span> Convention Center. <\/p>\n

This year\u2019s conference will address new issues and emerging trends in business education that are relevant to the more than 780 AACSB<\/abbr>-accredited schools worldwide. <\/p>\n

University of Hawaiʻi<\/span> at M\u0101noa\u2019s Shidler College of Business<\/a> is sponsoring the ICAM<\/abbr> welcome reception, and on Sunday, April 22, Shidler College of Business Dean Vance Roley<\/strong> and college namesake Jay H. Shidler<\/strong> will present “Best Practices in Fundraising for the Long-Run,” 11 a.m.–12:15 p.m. <\/p>\n

Their presentation will explore innovative approaches to fundraising to secure long-term financial stability and will highlight Shidler\u2019s $228 million gift to the college using land-based investments<\/a>. <\/p>\n

“This is the second time AACSB<\/abbr> has held its conference in Hawaiʻi<\/span> since 2008,” said Roley. “Hawaiʻi<\/span>\u2019s ideal location between East and West offers business educators and leaders an opportunity to experience a truly multicultural environment that blends western ideas with various ethnic cultures in a unique Hawaiian setting.”<\/p>\n

The conference also features plenary speakers Susan David, author of the bestselling book, Emotional Agility<\/em>; Lynne Doughtie, chairman and CEO<\/abbr> of KPMG LLP<\/abbr>; and Paul Zak, scientist, entrepreneur and author of Trust Factor<\/em> and The Moral Molecule<\/em>. <\/p>\n
