Students came from Central Middle, Dole Middle, Jarrett Middle, Kal\u0101kaua Middle, N\u0101n\u0101kuli High and Intermediate, Waim\u0101nalo Elementary and Intermediate, <span aria-label=\"Waianae\">Wai&#699;anae<\/span> Intermediate, Waipahu Intermediate and Washington Middle schools.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;We want to help students see that education is the pathway to career success,&rdquo; said <strong>Stephen Schatz<\/strong>, executive director of <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Hawai&#699;i<\/span> P&#8211;20. &ldquo;We need to build partnerships between education and industry, and create a seamless educational pipeline that ensures the future generation of workers will meet the demands of our growing economy.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<h2>Student discover high skill, in-demand careers<\/h2>\n<p>More than 30 of the 80 exhibitors represented various <abbr>糖心Vlog官方<\/abbr> campuses and programs including the <abbr>糖心Vlog官方<\/abbr> M\u0101noa <a href=\"http:\/\/shidler.hawaii.edu\/\">Shidler College of Business<\/a>, <abbr>糖心Vlog官方<\/abbr> M\u0101noa <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nursing.hawaii.edu\/home\">School of Nursing and Dental Hygiene<\/a>, Windward Community College\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/windward.hawaii.edu\/veterinary_studies\/\">veterinary technology program<\/a>, Leeward Community College\u2019s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.leeward.hawaii.edu\/tvpro\">television production program<\/a> and Honolulu Community College\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.honolulu.hawaii.edu\/ft\">fashion technology program<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;I think one of the best parts of our event is that we have so much support from the university,&rdquo; said <strong>Lesli Yogi<\/strong>, <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Hawai&#699;i<\/span> P&#8211;20 business and community outreach specialist. &ldquo;And so to show that support to all of the students that we have all these different programs right here in our state that they can go and graduate and get a degree in, I think is phenomenal.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Just saying &lsquo;marine biologist&rsquo; is very basic but here I can get an explanation on what it is.<br \/>&#8212;Tia Cunningham<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>One goal of the fair was to introduce students to high skill, in-demand careers so they could start planning for their future.<\/p>\n<p>Tia Cunningham, an 8th-grade student at Washington Middle School, is interested in marine biology, or law or photography.
