said <abbr title=\"University of Hawaii\">糖心Vlog官方<\/abbr> President <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/leadership\/david-lassner\/\">David Lassner<\/a><\/strong>. &ldquo;We credit and thank our hard working, committed faculty and staff across the <abbr>糖心Vlog官方<\/abbr> System and our congressional delegation for their strong support in advancing <abbr>糖心Vlog官方<\/abbr> as a model indigenous serving institution.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>The grants went to the <abbr>糖心Vlog官方<\/abbr> Hilo <a href=\"http:\/\/www.olelo.hawaii.edu\/\">Ka Haka <span aria-label=\"ula\">&#699;Ula<\/span> o <span aria-label=\"keelik\u014dlani\">Ke&#699;elik\u014dlani<\/span> College of Hawaiian Language Hale <span aria-label=\"kuamoo\">Kuamo&#699;o<\/span> Hawaiian Language Center<\/a> and various programs at <abbr>糖心Vlog官方<\/abbr> M\u0101noa&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/coe.hawaii.edu\/\">Colleges of Education<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eng.hawaii.edu\/\">Engineering<\/a> and its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/diversity\/\">Office of Student Equity, Excellence and Diversity<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2><abbr>糖心Vlog官方<\/abbr> Hilo<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Ka Haka <span aria-label=\"ula\">&#699;Ula<\/span> o <span aria-label=\"keelik\u014dlani\">Ke&#699;elik\u014dlani<\/span>, Hale <span aria-label=\"kuamoo\">Kuamo&#699;o<\/span>, &ldquo;K\u016bkulu Kumuhana K&#8211;3 Hawaiian Language Student and Family Literacy Project&rdquo; ($634,437)<\/strong> will develop informational Hawaiian language books, curricula, teacher training and family literacy workshops for Hawaiian language medium students in the target early elementary grade levels.<\/p>\n<h2><abbr>糖心Vlog官方<\/abbr> M\u0101noa<\/h2>\n<p><strong>College of Education, Center on Disability Studies\/University Affiliated Programs, &ldquo;Literacy through Digital Media K&#8211;3&rdquo; ($576,251)<\/strong> will improve the academic outcomes of Native Hawaiian children in <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Hawai&#699;i<\/span>&#8217;s elementary schools by introducing culturally relevant technology lessons to grades K&#8211;3 and training Department of Education teachers, educational assistants and k\u016bpuna to enhance the language arts experience of students by integrating culturally relevant technology lessons into instruction.<\/p>\n<p><strong>College of Education, Curriculum Research and Development Group, &ldquo;Mohala I Ke Ao: A culturally-responsive, multi-tiered beginning reading support system for schools and communities with diverse learners&rdquo; ($447,071)<\/strong> meets critical needs in 12 elementary schools in the state and addresses beginning reading and literacy needs of at-risk children and youth and Native Hawaiian underemployment.<\/p>\n<p><strong>College of Education, Center on Disability Studies\/University Affiliated Programs, &ldquo;Ka Pilina <span aria-label=\"noeau\">No&#699;eau<\/span>&rdquo; ($489,944)<\/strong> will develop, implement and replicate the math and science learning model to enhance educational services and ultimately improve the math and science outcomes of Native Hawaiian children and youth.<\/p>\n<p><strong>College of Engineering, &ldquo;<span aria-label=\"hoomanalowai\">Ho&#699;om\u0101nalowai<\/span>: <abbr title=\"Science, technology, engineering, mathematics\">STEM<\/abbr> Student and Teacher Preparation Program&rdquo; ($604,230)<\/strong> will provide scholarship and academic support to a minimum of 160 undergraduate students at six Native Hawaiian-serving <abbr>糖心Vlog官方<\/abbr> campuses on <span aria-label=\"Oahu\">O&#699;ahu<\/span> and <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Hawai&#699;i<\/span> Island; will conduct <abbr>STEM<\/abbr> enrichment and pre-college workshops for 180 parents and students with N\u0101 Pua <span aria-label=\"noeau\">No&#699;eau<\/span>; and will advance science and math skills for 120 students via a partnership of joint K&#8211;5 <abbr>STEM<\/abbr> teaching activities at M\u0101lama Honua Public Charter School in Waim\u0101nalo, <span aria-label=\"Oahu\">O&#699;ahu<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Vice Chancellor for Students, Office of Student Equity, Excellence and Diversity, &ldquo;Manawa K\u016bpono: Supporting At-Risk Native Hawaiian Students to Succeed in College&rdquo; ($606,617)<\/strong> will increase the college readiness, access and success for Native Hawaiian students from high-poverty schools on <span aria-label=\"Oahu\">O&#699;ahu<\/span>, <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Hawai&#699;i<\/span>, <span aria-label=\"Kauai\">Kaua&#699;i<\/span> and <span aria-label=\"Molokai\">Moloka&#699;i<\/span>. In contrast to other college readiness programs, this program will provide intensive and individualized services to a targeted group of students who are most at-risk of not attending college.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Vice Chancellor for Students, Office of Student Equity, Excellence and Diversity, &ldquo;Ka Waihona o <span aria-label=\"naauao\">Na&#699;auao<\/span> Whole School Place-based Learning and Community Engagement in School&rdquo; ($531,154)<\/strong> will focus on serving all 680 students, grades K&#8211;8, and their 48 teachers and coaches at Ka Waihona o <span aria-label=\"naauao\">Na&#699;auao<\/span>.
