University of Hawaiʻi<\/span> student teams took first and second place at the 2017 Hawaiʻi<\/span> Annual Code Challenge<\/a> (HACC).<\/p>\n

Team LoveMilkTea took first place with a ÌÇÐÄVlog¹Ù·½<\/abbr> M\u0101noa wayfinding mobile app<\/a> that helps students and campus visitors navigate the campus.<\/p>\n

Team FidgetSpinners took second with a mobile-friendly, searchable Hawaiʻi<\/span> Revised Statutes app<\/a>.<\/p>\n

HACC<\/abbr> provides a venue for the state to work together with the tech community to improve how state government works with the public, while also helping to develop the local IT<\/abbr> workforce.<\/p>\n

“Whether they were winners or not, everyone who participated in the Hawaiʻi<\/span> Annual Code Challenge was part of improving how state government interacts with and serves the public,” said Gov. David Ige, one of the HACC<\/abbr> judges. “Innovation and the development of our local IT<\/abbr> workforce is critical to making government more effective, efficient and open, now and in the future.” <\/p>\n
