Chancellor Lacro was nominated by <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www2.hawaii.edu\/~brubio\/\">Brent Rubio<\/a><\/strong>, sergeant first class with the <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Hawai&#699;i<\/span> Army National Guard and a chemistry instructor at Honolulu <abbr title=\"Community College\">CC<\/abbr>.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Chancellor Lacro has shown sincere commitment to supporting not only the faculty and staff that serve in the National Guard and Reserves, but also\u00a0to hundreds of our student veterans on campus by giving her\u00a0support\u00a0for <abbr title=\"Department of Veterans Affairs\">VA<\/abbr> programs on campus. This kind of\u00a0example from the very top of the Honolulu <abbr title=\"Community College\">CC<\/abbr> leadership creates a campus-wide culture of support for our veterans, guard personal and reservists,&rdquo; shares Rubio, who has served with the guard since 1998.<\/p>\n<p><abbr title=\"Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve\">ESGR<\/abbr>, a Department of Defense program, seeks to foster a culture in which all employers support and value the employment and military service of members of the National Guard and Reserve in the United States.
