{"id":53584,"date":"2016-11-30T08:44:55","date_gmt":"2016-11-30T18:44:55","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/?p=53584"},"modified":"2020-03-09T13:11:08","modified_gmt":"2020-03-09T23:11:08","slug":"native-hawaiian-aha-scholarship-event-hosted-by-windward-cc","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/2016\/11\/30\/native-hawaiian-aha-scholarship-event-hosted-by-windward-cc\/","title":{"rendered":"Native Hawaiian Aha scholarship event hosted by Windward <abbr title=\"Community College\">CC<\/abbr>"},"content":{"rendered":"<span class=\"span-reading-time rt-reading-time\" style=\"display: block;\"><span class=\"rt-label rt-prefix\">Reading time: <\/span> <span class=\"rt-time\"> &lt; 1<\/span> <span class=\"rt-label rt-postfix\">minute<\/span><\/span><p>As part of the statewide initiative to bring Native Hawaiian scholarship opportunities to underserved regions, <a href=\"https:\/\/windward.hawaii.edu\/\">Windward Community College<\/a> will host a <a href=\"https:\/\/windward.hawaii.edu\/Calendar\/2011\/Scholarship_Aha\/\">Scholarship <span aria-label=\"Aha\">&#699;Aha<\/span><\/a> event on Wednesday, December 7, 6&#8211;8:30 p.m. at Windward <abbr title=\"Community College\">CC<\/abbr>, <a href=\"https:\/\/windward.hawaii.edu\/About_WCC\/Akoakoa\/index.php\">Hale <span aria-label=\"Akoakoa\">&#699;&#256;koakoa<\/span> 101\u2028\u2028<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The event will provide an opportunity for students and parents to network with experts helpful in securing financial aid and scholarships for Native Hawaiians. The Scholarship <span aria-label=\"Aha\">&#699;Aha<\/span> is free and open to the community. Dinner and refreshments will be provided.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Scholarship <span aria-label=\"Aha\">&#699;Aha<\/span> brings together all major funding opportunities for Native Hawaiians in one place,&rdquo; said Windward <abbr>CC<\/abbr> acting Vice Chancellor of Student Affairs <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/windward.hawaii.edu\/people\/ardis_eschenberg\/\">Ardis Eschenberg<\/a><\/strong>. &ldquo;Attendees will gain insight into the application process and helpful strategies on how to earn scholarships.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<h2>Participating scholarship organizations:<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Alu Like, Inc.
