Honolulu Community College’s<\/a> communications and external affairs office recently received two bronze awards in the TV<\/abbr> Ad<\/abbr>\/PSA<\/abbr> category for their 30 second We Are Honolulu commercial, and bronze for the college’s 2014–2015 Annual Report at the National Council of Marketing and Public Relations for Community Colleges<\/a> District 6 Medallion Awards.<\/p>\n

“It is an extreme honor to collaborate with so many talented, like minded individuals on these two projects. It is truly a team effort,” shares Billie K.T. Lueder<\/strong>, director of communications for the college. “In alignment with the campus’ strategic plan, the 30 second We Are Honolulu commercial honors our history and calls out our commitment to our students and to our community as an indigenous serving institution.”<\/p>\n

She continues, “Each year Honolulu Community College produces an annual report to the community that gives a condensed overview of the accomplishments of the college over that particular academic and fiscal year. This was the first time we have submitted an entry into these two categories.”<\/p>\n

Forty-seven institutions submitted 375 entries to the District 6 annual Medallion Awards competition, making this year the most competitive ever. District 6 consists of Arizona, California, Hawaiʻi<\/span>, Nevada, Utah, Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, Federated States of Micronesia, Republic of Palau, Republic of the Marshall Islands and the Territory of Guam.<\/p>\n
