The day-and-a-half conference will be held on October 5&#8211;6, at the Hilton Hawaiian Village Waik&#299;k&#299; Beach Resort. <\/p>\n<p>The forum will feature presentations, interactive panel discussions, &ldquo;poolside chats,&rdquo; workshops and a networking reception, offering attendees opportunities to learn more about emerging technologies, medical research and ways to engage in, and contribute to <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Hawai&#699;i<\/span>&#8217;s growing innovation and technology industry. <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/research\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/FF-Public-Agenda.pdf\"><strong>Download the 2016 Future Focus agenda<\/strong> (<small><abbr>PDF<\/abbr><\/small>)<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Presenters include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Vice Adm. Raquel Bono, director of the Defense Health Agency<\/li>\n<li>Akira Hiruma, president and CEO of Hamamatsu Photonics K.K.<\/li>\n<li>Randall Holcombe, director of the University of <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Hawai&#699;i<\/span> Cancer Center<\/li>\n<li>Jerome Kim, director general of the International Vaccine Institute<\/li>\n<li>Scott Spiker, director of global business development and cloud security at Unisys<\/li>\n<li>Maj. Gen. Brett Williams (ret), president of operations and training at IronNet Cybersecurity<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&ldquo;This year&#8217;s Future Focus forum will bring together some of the top experts in innovation, technology and medical research locally, nationally and internationally,&rdquo; said Bob Harrison, <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Hawai&#699;i<\/span> Business Roundtable chairman. &ldquo;This event offers an opportunity to support an emerging industry that creates and sustains high-quality professions, business partnerships, stimulates economic development and enhances the quality of life in <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Hawai&#699;i<\/span>.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p><abbr title=\"University of Hawaii\">ÌÇÐÄVlog¹Ù·½<\/abbr> President <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/admin\/executives\/president.html\">David Lassner<\/a><\/strong> added, &ldquo;The strength of our research enterprise impacts many other business sectors.
