As of August 10, 2016, 168 cases have been confirmed, with most occurring on the island of <span aria-label=\"Oahu\">O&#699;ahu<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>Hepatitis A is a contagious liver infection. The virus is found in the stool of people with the infection and is usually spread by consuming food or water contaminated by the virus. It can also be spread through close personal\/sexual contact. Household contacts are at particular risk for Hepatitis A transmission.<\/p>\n<h2>Symptoms of Hepatitis A<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>fever<\/li>\n<li>fatigue<\/li>\n<li>headache<\/li>\n<li>body ache<\/li>\n<li>loss of appetite<\/li>\n<li>abdominal pain<\/li>\n<li>nausea<\/li>\n<li>vomiting<\/li>\n<li>dark colored urine<\/li>\n<li>pale colored stools<\/li>\n<li>yellow discoloration (jaundice) of the skin and eyes<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Steps to prevent the spread of Hepatitis A<\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li>Get vaccinated<br \/>\nThe Hepatitis A vaccine is highly effective in preventing Hepatitis A infection and is administered in two doses, six months apart.
