We greatly value our enduring relationship with Khon Kaen and look forward to deepening this connection with one of Thailand&#8217;s leading public research university,&rdquo; said <a href=\"http:\/\/www.socialsciences.hawaii.edu\/about\/about-the-dean.html\"><strong>Denise Eby Konan<\/strong><\/a>, dean of the College of Social Sciences.<\/p>\n<p>These relationships continue to build and reflect the college&#8217;s commitment to fostering strong international programs. <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><abbr title=\"University of Hawaii\">糖心Vlog官方<\/abbr> M&#257;noa, the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.eastwestcenter.org\/\">East-West Center<\/a> and Khon Kaen University have joined together to create a program that is anticipated to bring five Khon Kaen University faculty a year to the <abbr>糖心Vlog官方<\/abbr> M&#257;noa campus to pursue their doctorates beginning fall 2016<\/li>\n<li>Mongolia&#8217;s National Academy of Governance and Germany&#8217;s Potsdam University joined participants from <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Hawai&#699;i<\/span> for an international conference exploring factors affecting the development of energy and mineral resources in <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Hawai&#699;i<\/span>, Mongolia and Germany. Papers from the conference, which was sponsored by <abbr>糖心Vlog官方<\/abbr> M&#257;noa&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.socialsciences.hawaii.edu\/\">College of Social Sciences<\/a> in partnership with the <a href=\"http:\/\/manoa.hawaii.edu\/spas\/\">School of Pacific and Asian Studies<\/a>, can be found <a href=\"http:\/\/socialsciences.hawaii.edu\/conference\/demr2015\/papers.html\">here<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Khon Kaen University is a public research university. Established in 1964, it is the leading educational and learning center in the northeastern part of Thailand. Home to 40,000 students, Khon Kaen University offers 340 study programs including 101 undergraduate programs, 138 master&#8217;s programs, 77 doctoral programs and 24 graduate programs.<\/p>\n<h2>About Dick Pratt<\/h2>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/manoa-pratt-d.jpg\" alt=\"Dick Pratt\" width=\"300\" height=\"300\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-43010\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/manoa-pratt-d.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/manoa-pratt-d-130x130.jpg 130w, https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/manoa-pratt-d-260x260.jpg 260w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Born and raised in Southern California, Pratt received a <abbr title=\"Bachelors of Art>BA<\/abbr> in political science from the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ucr.edu\/\">University of California at Riverside<\/a>, an <abbr title=Masters of Art>MA<\/abbr> in educational administration from the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.du.edu\/\">University of Denver<\/a> and a <abbr title=\"Doctor of Philosophy\">PhD<\/abbr> in political science from <abbr>糖心Vlog官方<\/abbr> M&#257;noa.<\/p>\n<p>Pratt&#8217;s areas of research and application focus on change and innovation in public organizations, local level public leadership in Southeast Asia and <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Hawai&#699;i<\/span>&#8217;s energy independence initiative.
