{"id":4277,"date":"2012-02-15T16:40:43","date_gmt":"2012-02-16T02:40:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/?p=4277"},"modified":"2021-05-05T13:00:12","modified_gmt":"2021-05-05T23:00:12","slug":"mygrant","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/2012\/02\/15\/mygrant\/","title":{"rendered":"New research administration system myGRANT launches February 16"},"content":{"rendered":"<span class=\"span-reading-time rt-reading-time\" style=\"display: block;\"><span class=\"rt-label rt-prefix\">Reading time: <\/span> <span class=\"rt-time\"> 2<\/span> <span class=\"rt-label rt-postfix\">minutes<\/span><\/span><p>Beginning February 16, the University of <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Hawai&#699;i<\/span> will utilize a new electronic system that modernizes current research administration practices and reduces paper-intensive processes for researchers and administrators at all 10 <abbr title=\"University of Hawaii\">糖心Vlog官方<\/abbr> campuses statewide.<\/p>\n<p>Implemented by the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ors.hawaii.edu\/\">Office of Research Services<\/a>, <em>my<\/em>GRANT is the university&#8217;s online application for proposal development and creation and grant administration. It is currently live and available to principal investigators to use for proposal entry. All university researchers and administrative staff involved in the proposal development and submission process are encouraged to visit the <abbr title=\"Office of Research Services\">ORS<\/abbr> <em>my<\/em>GRANT information website to become familiar with the system.<\/p>\n<p>On Feb. 16, all proposals and related approvals will be routed through <em>my<\/em>GRANT&#8217;s electronic workflow. The proposal data entered into <em>my<\/em>GRANT and submitted for electronic routing and workflow approval will replace the current <abbr title=\"Office of Research Services\">ORS<\/abbr> Form 5 and its corresponding approval process.<\/p>\n<h2>Training offered<\/h2>\n<p>Training for <em>my<\/em>GRANT is currently being offered for principal investigators, fiscal and administrative officers and all individuals involved in the proposal development and submission process.<\/p>\n<p>Classroom training sessions are designed to give the user hands-on training and include a brief introduction of <em>my<\/em>GRANT and a comparison of the current hard-copy process to the <em>my<\/em>GRANT process for proposal development and submission; a demonstration of the <em>my<\/em>GRANT proposal development and submission process; use of the <em>my<\/em>GRANT online training module; and development of a proposal by each participant using <em>my<\/em>GRANT.<\/p>\n<p>Online training is also available in the university&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/laulima.hawaii.edu\">Laulima<\/a> online learning system.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to training and online resources, including <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ors.hawaii.edu\/index.php\/mygrant-faqs\">frequently asked questions<\/a>, the Office of Research Services has expanded its Helpline hours to provide additional support to the <abbr>糖心Vlog官方<\/abbr> community.
