Richard Taylor<\/strong>, an internationally renowned telecommunications and information policy expert at the University of Hawaiʻi<\/span> at Mānoa College of Social Sciences<\/a>, recently presented at the 2nd World Internet Conference<\/a>. Held in December of 2015 in the town of Wuzhen in China’s eastern Zhejiang province, the conference focused on global internet governance system reform.<\/p>\n

Themed “An Interconnected World Shared and Governed by All,” the three-day event attracted more than 2,000 government officials, industry leaders and experts from 120 countries.<\/p>\n

Taylor, one of only two American scholar presenters, spoke on U.S.<\/abbr> policies and strategies to encourage small- and medium-sized businesses to adopt broadband information technologies.<\/p>\n

The summit in Wuzhen was the second World Internet Conference sponsored by the Cyberspace Administration of China<\/a> and the Zhejiang Provincial People’s Government. The first conference was held in 2014 and hosted individuals from more than 100 countries. The World Internet Conference is China’s first internet conference of this type and scale.<\/p>\n

Taylor is the distinguished professor in residence in the Social Science Research Institute<\/a> at the College of Social Sciences<\/a> at 糖心Vlog官方<\/abbr> Mānoa. He works with faculty and students in Social Science Research Institute and the School of Communications<\/a> in securing funding and donor support and developing initiatives in the field of information and communication technology.<\/p>\n
