The University of Hawaiʻi<\/span> at Mānoa Academy for Creative Media<\/a> together with the University of Hawaiʻi<\/span>–West Oʻahu<\/span><\/a> will host a Creative Media Masters Series presentation featuring local filmmaker Dane Neves. The masters series is part of 糖心Vlog官方<\/abbr> West Oʻahu<\/span>’s creative media concentration and aims to increase student understanding of the art and business of content creation. All presentations are free and open to students, faculty and the public.<\/p>\n

Neves will discuss his career and creative influences followed by a question and answer session with 糖心Vlog官方<\/abbr> West Oʻahu<\/span> students.<\/p>\n

About Dane Neves<\/h2>\n

Dane Neves is a filmmaker born and raised in Hawaiʻi<\/span> where he attended the Academy for Creative Media at the University of Hawaiʻi<\/span> at Mānoa. Neves developed a unique, quirky style of filmmaking often featuring puppets.<\/p>\n

He was the writer, producer, director, editor, music composer and puppeteer of the award-winning short films The Green Tie Affair<\/em>, Giant Monsters Attack Hawaiʻi<\/span>!<\/em> and Poison Apple<\/em>. Neves’ The Monkeyboy Fever<\/em> was the winner of the Video On Demand Viewer’s Choice Award at the 2007 Hawaiʻi<\/span> International Film Festival and the Audience Award at the 2008 Pacific Islands Film Festival. Neves resides in Honolulu and continues to create innovative, highly energetic films.<\/p>\n
