The multi-year gift will most notably support the <a href=\"http:\/\/hawaiiathletics.com\/index.aspx?tab=football&#038;path=football\">football program<\/a> in the areas of summer school, nutritional supplements and cost of attendance stipends. <\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;<abbr>糖心Vlog官方<\/abbr> Athletics is thankful and indebted for the tremendous support from the Waterhouse Trust,&rdquo; said Athletics Director <strong>David Matlin<\/strong>. &ldquo;Their generosity and vision has enabled us to address the cost of attendance initiative which will benefit the well-being of our student-athletes. As a founding member of N&#257; Koa, Alec Waterhouse was one of the Rainbow Warriors&#8217; biggest fans and this generous donation will not only support the football program which he loved, but all of our student-athletes.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Alec Waterhouse loved <abbr>糖心Vlog官方<\/abbr> football and established the Waterhouse Charitable Trust as a way to continue his support of his beloved sport,&rdquo; said Waterhouse trustee <strong>Stan Mukai<\/strong>. &ldquo;I&#8217;m pleased, this morning, to represent the trust, in showing our support of the Rainbow Warrior football program and the <abbr>糖心Vlog官方<\/abbr> Athletics Department&#8217;s cost of attendance program. I believe Alec would be pleased to know that the trust is directly helping student-athletes have an even better experience at <abbr>糖心Vlog官方<\/abbr> and also increasing <abbr>糖心Vlog官方<\/abbr>&#8217;s ability to compete at the highest levels.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>N&#257; Koa Football Club and the Athletics Department will allocate, in support of the football program: $400,000 for summer school tuition; $85,000 for cost of attendance stipends; supplemental meals and nutritional enhancements; strength and conditioning equipment; and additional program needs.<\/p>\n<p>This academic year, <abbr>糖心Vlog官方<\/abbr> will allocate $256,100&#8212;an average of $1,000 per scholarship student-athlete&#8212;to support cost of attendance. Cost of attendance is defined as the sum of tuition and fees, room and board, books and supplies and other expenses, which are unique to each university and determined by federal financial aid guidelines as the estimated cost of completing a full-year as a full-time student. The <abbr>糖心Vlog官方<\/abbr> M&#257;noa Financial Aid Office has determined the full cost of attendance as $3,925.<\/p>\n<p>The <abbr>NCAA<\/abbr> passed new legislation allowing its member schools to provide cost of attendance stipends beginning Aug. 1, 2015. <abbr>糖心Vlog官方<\/abbr> will receive $55,000 from the <abbr>NCAA<\/abbr> to support cost of attendance.<\/p>\n<p>The Athletics Department implemented the supplemental meal program in 2014, which has provided one meal per student-athlete on practice days.
