Native plants will be for sale, including ʻ\u014dhiʻa<\/span> lehua, at Lyon Arboretum’s spring plant sale.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

The University of Hawaiʻi<\/span> at Mānoa’s Lyon Arboretum<\/a> will hold its annual spring plant sale on Saturday, April 18, 9 a.m.–2 p.m. Various nurseries will be selling plants for homes and gardens including colorful ti varieties, Hawaiian plants including native ferns, new anthurium varieties, orchids, heliconias, gingers, cactus, succulents, tillandsias and other bromeliads, roses, herbs and vegetable plants.<\/p>\n

Arboretum volunteers will sell jams and jellies made from local fruits, as well as oshibana (the Japanese art of making pictures with pressed dry flowers and plants), spring wreaths, ceramic pots, hand-painted pots and leaf angels. Hawaiian honey will also be available for purchase.<\/p>\n

There will also be a special book sale of garden and plant-related books and journals.<\/p>\n

Arboretum staff and volunteers will provide keiki activities and Tahitian dances will be performed in the morning by Te Vevo Tahiti No Mānoa.<\/p>\n

A free shuttle service to the arboretum has pick-up and drop-off points at the intersections of Poʻelua<\/span> Street and Mānoa Road, and Nipo Street and Mānoa Road.<\/p>\n

Lyon Arboretum, located at 3860 Mānoa Road, is open Mondays to Fridays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. It is closed on Sundays and state holidays.<\/p>\n
