The festival is free to the public and open to all ages. All art supplies are provided. Attendees are encouraged to come in costume.<\/p>\n<p>A family friendly event, the Palik&#363; Arts Festival will include two free Windward <abbr>CC<\/abbr> Hawaiian Youth Theatre performances of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/2015\/02\/03\/the-magical-pu-stealer-at-paliku-theatre\/\"><em>The Magical P&#363; Stealer<\/em><\/a> written and directed by Moses Goods at Palik&#363; Theatre at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;We invite you to &lsquo;come play and do art!&rsquo; This festival has an open and adventurous learn-by-doing vibe. We provide free art supplies and guidance, so you and your family can play! And, you can take home whatever you create,&rdquo; said Ben Moffat, festival chair and creator.<\/p>\n<p>The festival&#8217;s emphasis is on playing and exploring artful interests. Windward <abbr>CC<\/abbr> art professors, instructors and their students will be on hand to assist those who want to express their creativity in a variety of ways\u2014from painting, drawing and sculpting to moving, acting or making music, prints, poetry and prose.<\/p>\n<h2>Activities<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Clowning Around with <abbr>ÌÇÐÄVlog¹Ù·½<\/abbr> Comedic Movement Theatre students in costume<\/li>\n<li>Acting workshops with Nick Logue<\/li>\n<li>Ceramics for Kids with Paul Nash<\/li>\n<li>Piano open lab<\/li>\n<li>Camera Obscura with Mark Hamasaki<\/li>\n<li>Open drawing studio with Norm Graffam<\/li>\n<li>Woodcarving with Jordan Souza<\/li>\n<li>Clay sculpture with Bryce Meyers<\/li>\n<li>Stage combat and improvisational acting workshops with Nick Logue<\/li>\n<li>Printmaking with the Honolulu Printmakers<\/li>\n<li>Screenwriting and fiction writing workshops with Desiree Poteet<\/li>\n<li>Raku firing demonstrations<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Palik&#363; Theatre<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Two free performances at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. of <em>The Magical P&#363; Stealer<\/em>, a tale for the keiki written and directed by Moses Goods. The Magical P&#363; Stealer is a re-telling of the traditional Hawaiian <span aria-label=\"moolelo\">mo&#699;olelo<\/span> of Puapualenalena, a magical shape-shifting dog tasked with bringing peace to <span aria-label=\"Waipio\">Waipi&#699;o<\/span> Valley. Performed by Windward <abbr>CC<\/abbr> Theatre 260 students and alumni.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Gallery <span aria-label=\"Iolani\">&#699;Iolani<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>At <a href=\"http:\/\/gallery.windward.hawaii.edu\/\">Gallery <span aria-label=\"Iolani\">&#699;Iolani<\/span><\/a>, a new exhibit &ldquo;Communities, Disaster and Change&rdquo; will feature 28 of Alaska&#8217;s finest artists addressing the theme of natural disasters&#8217; effects on their communities.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Imaginarium<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"http:\/\/aerospace.wcc.hawaii.edu\/imaginarium.html\">H&#333;k&#363;lani Imaginarium<\/a> will be showing <a href=\"http:\/\/aerospace.wcc.hawaii.edu\/Secrets_Dragon.html\"><em>Secrets of the Dragon<\/em><\/a>, a family-friendly fulldome show with a nominal fee of $3.
