Winners included Jason Ballesteros and <strong>Hanna Siew<\/strong> (medical spelling), <strong>Joy Ramiro<\/strong> (medical terminology), <strong>Mary Leivi Piso<\/strong> and <strong>Brandon Gines<\/strong> (medical math), <strong>Samantha Swarens<\/strong> and <strong>Alayna Cantillo<\/strong> (knowledge exams: human growth and development), <strong>John Ventura<\/strong> (knowledge exams: pathophysiology), <strong>Ashley Rapoza<\/strong> (clinical speciality), <strong>Eva Costa<\/strong> and <strong>Michelle Barroga<\/strong> (medical assisting), <strong>Abi Roxas<\/strong> and <strong>Tiffany Arapari<\/strong> (job seeking skills) and <strong>Nicholas J. The Public Service Announcement Team B, led by Chapter President <strong>Lark Jason Canico<\/strong>, with team members <strong>Kimberlee Staats<\/strong>, <strong>Vanessa Aguirre<\/strong> and <strong>Shane Naeole<\/strong>, captured first place with their public service announcement on &ldquo;Concussions: Prevention, Recognition and Treatment.&rdquo; Public Service Announcement Team A, with <strong>Sheldon Cabudol<\/strong>, <strong>Kelly Gani<\/strong> and <strong>Ridge Cabaccang<\/strong>, who served as team captain, finished second. Lashay Masami took second place in transcultural health, a knowledge test event that measures proficiency at the recall, application and analysis levels of specific careers or specialty areas within the healthcare community. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/article.php?aId=7035\">Read the 糖心Vlog官方 Hilo news release for more.<\/a><\/p>\n<h2>About <abbr>HOSA<\/abbr><\/h2>\n<p><abbr>HOSA<\/abbr> (formerly known as Health Occupation Students of America, now known as <abbr>HOSA<\/abbr>: Future Health Professionals) is a nationwide, student-led organization endorsed by the U.S. Department of Education and the Health Science Education Division of the Association for Career and Technical Education. The newest Career and Technical Student Organization, <abbr>HOSA<\/abbr> continues to thrive in the State of <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Hawai&#699;i<\/span>. After becoming chartered in 2005 with 210 members representing twelve schools, <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Hawai&#699;i<\/span> <abbr>HOSA<\/abbr> has since become established at twenty-three of <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Hawai&#699;i<\/span>&#8217;s high schools and eight postsecondary institutions with a current membership total exceeding 1,200 members.<\/p>\n<p><abbr>HOSA<\/abbr> provides a program of leadership development, motivation and recognition designed to meet the needs of secondary and postsecondary students interested in health and medical professions.
