The University of Hawaiʻi<\/span> at Mānoa’s Outreach College<\/a> received a $10,000 National Endowment for the Arts<\/a> (NEA) Art Works grant to support the Asia Pacific Dance Festival<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Asia Pacific Dance Festival is a multi-week biennial festival held at 糖心Vlog官方<\/abbr> Mānoa that showcases the finest dances, dancers and choreographers from Asia and the Pacific. Centered on a series of performances, the festival includes activities such as workshops, university course offerings, public lectures, forums and community demonstrations. The festival is a co-production of the East-West Center Arts Program<\/a> and Outreach College. Additional support is provided by the University’s Theatre and Dance department<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Said NEA<\/abbr> Chair Jane Chu, “I’m pleased to be able to share the news of our support through Art Works, including the award to Outreach College. The arts foster value, connection, creativity and innovation for the American people, and these recommended grants demonstrate those attributes and affirm that the arts are part of our everyday lives.”<\/p>\n

“We are excited that the NEA<\/abbr> sees the value and importance of the Asia Pacific Dance Festival to both the local community and dance world at large,” added Asia Pacific Dance Festival co-director Tim Slaughter<\/strong>. “It is an important validation of our work to have a prestigious organization such as the NEA<\/abbr> recognize and support our work.”<\/p>\n
