His appointment begins on December 1, 2014. <\/p>\n<p>Hokoana started his higher education career at the University of <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Hawai&#699;i<\/span> in 1991 and currently serves as the vice chancellor for student affairs at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.uhwo.hawaii.edu\/\"><abbr>糖心Vlog官方<\/abbr> West <span aria-label=\"Oahu\">O&#699;ahu<\/span><\/a> since 2013. He also served as associate vice president for student affairs for <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/\"><abbr>糖心Vlog官方<\/abbr> System<\/a>, vice chancellor of student affairs at <a href=\"http:\/\/windward.hawaii.edu\/\">Windward Community College<\/a> and director for various programs at <abbr>糖心Vlog官方<\/abbr> Maui College.<\/p>\n<p>Hokoana has secured more than $20 million in county, state, federal and private funds to support various <abbr>糖心Vlog官方<\/abbr> systemwide initiatives that have contributed to unprecedented enrollment growth, financial aid access, service to underrepresented groups and overall student success.
