Neil Abercrombie announced the release of $39 million to the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/\">University of <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Hawai&#699;i<\/span> System<\/a> for capital improvement projects (<abbr>CIP<\/abbr>) at various campuses.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;These projects, at campuses from <span aria-label=\"Lihue\">L\u012bhu&#699;e<\/span> to Hilo, are long-term investments in our state university system, an anchor of our island community,&rdquo; Gov. Abercrombie said. &ldquo;They address needed repairs, maintenance and upgrades to ensure functional academic environments and accessible, affordable higher education opportunities for the people of <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Hawai&#699;i<\/span>.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>$29,000,000&#8212;Systemwide health, safety and code requirements, statewide<br \/>\nConstruction funds for health and safety projects at <abbr>糖心Vlog官方<\/abbr> M&#257;noa and <abbr>糖心Vlog官方<\/abbr> Hilo. Projects at <a href=\"http:\/\/manoa.hawaii.edu\/\"><abbr>糖心Vlog官方<\/abbr> M&#257;noa<\/a> include accessibility improvements, sewer and storm drain upgrades, health and safety improvements at <a href=\"http:\/\/manoa.hawaii.edu\/lyonarboretum\/\">Lyon Arboretum<\/a>, and walkway upgrades.
