For the keiki, there will be bottle-rocket launching, face painting, shows in the StarLab planetarium and the opportunity to make a glider, sundial, comet or crater.<\/p>\n<p>Both children and adults will have the opportunity to &ldquo;Ask an Astronomer. &rdquo; 糖心Vlog官方ors will also be able to explore a 3D virtual environment in the <abbr>CAVE<\/abbr> and a scale model of the solar system on the front lawn. Talks will discuss the great astronomy being done in <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Hawai&#699;i<\/span>, how science has changed the perception of light, space and time, and many other timely topics.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>VIDEO<\/strong>: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/2013\/04\/15\/astronomy-event-inspires-kids-young-and-old\/\">&ldquo;Astronomy event inspires kids young and old&rdquo;<\/a> (the 2013 open house)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This year&#8217;s guest organizations will include the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bishopmuseum.org\/\">Bishop Museum<\/a>, the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hawastsoc.org\/\">Hawaiian Astronomical Society<\/a>, and the <a href=\"http:\/\/superm.math.hawaii.edu\/index.html\"><abbr>糖心Vlog官方<\/abbr> M&#257;noa <abbr>SUPER<\/abbr> M Group<\/a>. Bringing interesting displays and activities from the Big Island of <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Hawai&#699;i<\/span> are <a href=\"http:\/\/www.gemini.edu\/\">Gemini Observatory<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/subarutelescope.org\/\"\">Subaru Telescope<\/a>, the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tmt.org\/\">Thirty Meter Telescope<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.imiloahawaii.org\/\"><span aria-label=\"Imiloa\">&#699;Imiloa<\/span> Astronomy Center of <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Hawai&#699;i<\/span><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Weather-permitting, there will be sunspot viewing in the Institute for Astronomy courtyard and remote nighttime observing on a telescope located on the other side of the world.<\/p>\n<p>Admission and parking are free.
