University of Hawaiʻi<\/span> at M\u0101noa setter Tread Rosenthal has been selected as one of four finalists for the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA<\/abbr>) Men\u2019s Collegiate Player of the Year Award.<\/p>\n

The announcement comes just after Rosenthal led the Rainbow Warriors to a four-set victory over USC<\/abbr> in the NCAA<\/abbr> Regional Final<\/a>.<\/p>\n

A first-team AVCA<\/abbr> All-American last season, Rosenthal currently ranks second nationally in assists per set while directing the nation’s No.<\/abbr> 4-ranked offense. The three-time All-Big West first team honoree has been selected as the league’s Setter of the Week a record 11 times this season. Rosenthal was also recently named the Big West Player of the Year<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The other three finalists were Pepperdine’s Cole Hartke, Ball State’s Patrick Rogers and UCLA<\/abbr>‘s Andrew Rowan. The Player of the Year will be announced on Friday, May 8.<\/p>\n

The Rainbow Warriors will face Long Beach State on May 9 in the semifinals of the NCAA<\/abbr> Championships in Los Angeles, California. The winner will play the winner of UC<\/abbr> Irvine vs.<\/abbr> Ball State on May 11 for the national championship.<\/p>\n
