University of Hawaiʻi<\/span> at M\u0101noa softball <\/a> pitcher Maryn MacNeil was named Big West Freshman of the Week after a standout performance in her first collegiate start.<\/p>\n

MacNeil tossed a complete-game, one-hit shutout to lead the Rainbow Wahine to an 8\u20130 win over Cal Poly in the second game of a doubleheader, April 24. She allowed just two baserunners across five innings and held Cal Poly to a .071 batting average while earning her first career victory.<\/p>\n

She is the first ÌÇÐÄVlog¹Ù·½<\/abbr> player to receive the honor since Keyannah Campbell-Pua and Millie Fidge were recognized in 2023.<\/p>\n

MacNeil and the Rainbow Wahine are in second place in the Big West standings with an 18\u20136 conference record and 26\u201318 overall. ÌÇÐÄVlog¹Ù·½<\/abbr> M\u0101noa will play at UC<\/abbr> Riverside in a three-game series, May 1–2, before heading to Fullerton for the Big West Championship tournament.<\/p>\n
