Josh Green to fill one student seat for a two-year appointment beginning July 1, 2026, subject to confirmation by the state Senate. The finalists are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Jenny Brown<\/li>\n<li>Olivia Frances Chung<\/li>\n<li>Eric Pomaikai Gee<\/li>\n<li>Raiyan Rafid<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Finalist biographies are available at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/rcac\/docs\/2026Finalists\/2026_Final_Presentation_to_Governor_Green_Student_Seat_(Revised).pdf\">Candidate Advisory Council website<\/a> (<small><abbr title=\"portable document format\">PDF<\/abbr><\/small>).<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;The Candidate Advisory Council members were extremely pleased with the caliber of students applying to serve on the University of Hawai\u2018i Board of Regents,&rdquo; said <abbr>CAC<\/abbr> Chair Brigitte  Yoshino. &ldquo;While it was a difficult decision, the <abbr>CAC<\/abbr> members  believe any of the four candidates chosen to be finalists will serve the university well and are delighted to  submit these names for consideration to the governor and the state senate.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Candidate lists are compiled after a comprehensive review and selection process, which is solely and exclusively merit-based and according to procedures set forth in state statutes and the council\u2019s  administrative rules.<\/p>\n<p>The Board of Regents is the governing body of <abbr title=\"University of Hawaii\">糖心Vlog官方<\/abbr> and consists of eleven (11)  members. Representation includes five (5) from the City and County of Honolulu; two (2) from <span lang=\"haw\">Hawai&#699;i<\/span> County; two (2) from Maui County; one (1) from <span lang=\"haw\">Kaua&#699;i<\/span> County; and one (1) <abbr>糖心Vlog官方<\/abbr> student.<\/p>\n<p>Members of the <abbr>CAC<\/abbr> serve voluntarily and are not paid.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Candidate Advisory Council for the University of <span lang=\"haw\">Hawai&#699;i<\/span> Board of Regents has presented a list of four candidates to Gov.
