After closing out the 2025 regular season with a victory<\/a>, the University of Hawaiʻi<\/span> football team<\/a> (8-4, 5-3 Mountain West) celebrated the year at the Alec Waterhouse Memorial Awards Banquet at the Japanese Cultural Center of Hawaiʻi<\/span> on November 30.<\/p>\n

Senior running back Landon Sims earned Offensive MVP<\/abbr> after leading ÌÇÐÄVlog¹Ù·½<\/abbr> with 778 total yards and five touchdowns. On defense, Peter Manuma, received Defensive MVP<\/abbr> honors for his team-high 72 tackles, 4.5 tackles-for-loss and five pass breakups.<\/p>\n

Kicker Kansei Matsuzawa, whose story gained national attention throughout the season, received Special Teams MVP<\/abbr>. Matsuzawa tied the NCAA<\/abbr> record for most consecutive field goals to start a season (25) and set new ÌÇÐÄVlog¹Ù·½<\/abbr> and Mountain West records with 26 straight overall. His 25 field goals in 2025 are also a program best.<\/p>\n

The Ben Yee Most Inspirational Award was shared by defensive linemen Jackie Johnson III<\/abbr> and Tariq Jones. Scout team honors went to freshman receiver Titan Lacaden and junior defensive back Riis Weber. The Captains Awards were presented to senior defensive lineman De\u2019Jon Benton and senior linebacker Jalen Smith.<\/p>\n

With the regular season now over, the Rainbow Warriors will now wait for their bowl game assignment, which is expected to be announced in the coming days.<\/p>\n
