Directed by <strong>Ronald Gilliam<\/strong> and Terri Madden, <em>Yes I Am: Leeward Edition<\/em>, will be featured at the Leeward Lab Theatre on January 30, 31 and February 1 and 8 at 8 p.m.<\/p>\n<p><em>Yes, I Am: Leeward Edition<\/em> is an original theatrical production about identity and love based on stories and experiences from the Leeward and Central districts of <span aria-label=\"Oahu\">O&#699;ahu<\/span>, collected by cast members Kahana Ho, Kristen Misaki, Jonathan Reyn and Marizel Butin. The Leeward Theatre and PlayBuilders invite you to join them in celebration of hardship, love, laughter, identity and acceptance through the amazing stories from this often marginalized community.<\/p>\n<p>During the summer of 2013, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.playbuilders.org\/\">PlayBuilders<\/a> developed a new theatrical performance about identity and love based on interviews and stories complied by the Honolulu <abbr>LGBT<\/abbr> community titled <a href=\"http:\/\/www.playbuilders.org\/?p=1218\"><em>Yes, I Am: Stories from Honolulu&#8217;s <abbr>LGBT<\/abbr> Community<\/em><\/a>. The performance received critical praise and was filmed by <span aria-label=\"Olelo\">&#699;&#332;lelo<\/span> when it was produced at Fresh Cafe in <span aria-label=\"Kakaako\">Kaka&#699;ako<\/span.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Six months later, PlayBuilders continued their dialogue with the <abbr>LGBTQQI<\/abbr> community at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.leeward.hawaii.edu\/\">Leeward Community College<\/a>. Audience members who saw the original <em>Yes, I Am: Stories from Honolulu&#8217;s <abbr>LGBT<\/abbr> Community<\/em> will experience a completely new perspective and walk away with new insights into the struggles and joys of <span aria-label=\"Oahu\">O&#699;ahu<\/span>&#8217;s <abbr>LGBTQQI<\/abbr> community.<\/p>\n<h2>Ticket Information<\/h2>\n<p>Tickets are $10 and will go on sale on hour before show time (7 p.m.).
