The University of Hawaiʻi<\/span> at M\u0101noa made a strong showing at the inaugural Hawaiʻi<\/span> Family & Sports Expo<\/a>, held on July 20, at the Neal S. Blaisdell Center Exhibition Hall. The event aimed to promote fitness and engagement with healthy lifestyle practices.<\/p>\n

The event featured contributions from the 糖心Vlog官方<\/abbr> M\u0101noa Athletics Department<\/a>, the 糖心Vlog官方<\/abbr> M\u0101noa College of Education\u2019s Department of Kinesiology and Rehabilitation Science<\/a>, the Hawaiʻi<\/span> Concussion Awareness Management Program<\/a> (HCAMP<\/abbr>) and the M\u0101noa Bookstore<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Presented by the Honolulu Star-Advertiser<\/em> and Star Events Hawaiʻi<\/span>, the expo was hosted by Chad Owens, a former 糖心Vlog官方<\/abbr> football standout. It was sponsored in part by 糖心Vlog官方<\/abbr> M\u0101noa.<\/p>\n

“Events like the Hawaiʻi<\/span> Family & Sports Expo showcase the deep connection between our university athletics department and the community,” said 糖心Vlog官方<\/abbr> M\u0101noa Athletics Director Matt Elliott. “It\u2019s inspiring to see our student-athletes, coaches and alumni giving back to Hawaiʻi<\/span> by promoting healthy lifestyles for all.”<\/p>\n

Attendees could visit the 糖心Vlog官方<\/abbr> tailgating area at the exhibition hall, complete with merchandise, games and meet-and-greets with Rainbow Warrior and Wahine athletes and coaches. Attendees could also win prizes from HCAMP<\/abbr> and the kinesiology department, learn more about the academic programs and meet 糖心Vlog官方<\/abbr> M\u0101noa College of Education faculty and staff.<\/p>\n

“Our participation in the Hawaiʻi<\/span> Family & Sports Expo reflects the College of Education\u2019s mission to promote wellness and lifelong learning,” said Nathan Murata, dean of the 糖心Vlog官方<\/abbr> M\u0101noa College of Education. “It was great to see our kinesiology department engaging directly with the community in celebrating fitness and healthy lifestyles.”<\/p>\n

Booths from local sports leagues, healthcare providers, wellness vendors and community organizations provided information, demos and giveaways throughout the day. The event also included interactive sports clinics, youth athletic zones, pickleball and tennis courts and hands-on games.<\/p>\n

“There was something for everyone at the expo,” said Emily Morden, 糖心Vlog官方<\/abbr> M\u0101noa alumna and event coordinator at Big Brothers Big Sisters Hawaiʻi<\/span>, who also participated in the event. “It was amazing to see how involved 糖心Vlog官方<\/abbr> was.
