This free event is open to the public, with a special invitation extended to high school and college students interested in science.<\/p>\n<p>This year\u2019s focus is gene-environment (<abbr>GxE<\/abbr>) research, which examines how genetic variants and environmental factors combine to increase cancer risk. GxE studies aim to identify high-risk individuals for proactive prevention and treatment.<\/p>\n<p>Speakers from the <abbr>U.S.<\/abbr>, Canada, China, France, Israel, Italy and Norway will share groundbreaking cancer research. Nobel laureates in medicine and chemistry and <abbr>糖心Vlog官方<\/abbr> Cancer Center experts, including Director Naoto Ueno, Michele Carbone, Haining Yang, Herbert Yu, will present on critical advancements in the field.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;The Weinman Symposium is a cornerstone for advancing cancer research in <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Hawai&#699;i<\/span> and globally,&rdquo; said Michele Carbone, co-founder and human cancer genetics expert. &ldquo;It\u2019s an opportunity to collaborate with world-class scientists and improve patient outcomes.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Founded by Barry and Virginia Weinman, who passed away in 2024 and 2023, respectively, the symposium is supported by the Weinman Foundation Fund for Innovation.
