Organized by the Student Sustainability Council (<abbr>SSC<\/abbr>) and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/sustainability\/\"><abbr title=\"University of Hawaii\">ÌÇÐÄVlog¹Ù·½<\/abbr> Office of Sustainability<\/a>, the event aimed to help minimize waste and promote sustainable practices for the holiday season.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Clearing out your closet at the end of the semester can be a challenge&#8212;whether your style has evolved or you\u2019re out of space,&rdquo; said Ruby Aliason, marketing coordinator at the Office of Sustainability. &ldquo;The event offered a creative solution, letting students refresh their wardrobe without buying new clothes this holiday season.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/manoa-sustainability-clothing-swap-2-300x169.jpg\" alt=\"students looking through clothing at the clothing swap\" width=\"300\" height=\"169\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-208810\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/manoa-sustainability-clothing-swap-2-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/manoa-sustainability-clothing-swap-2-130x73.jpg 130w, https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/manoa-sustainability-clothing-swap-2.jpg 676w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The event featured items donated by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/wcc\/thrift-shop-2\/\">Women\u2019s Campus Club Thrift Shop<\/a> and contributions collected through donation bins at student housing buildings, including Gateway House, Frear Hall and Hale Wainani Apartments, over the course of a week. More than six trash bags of clothing were donated.
