The <a href=\"https:\/\/pcatt.org\/\">Pacific Center for Advanced Technology Training<\/a> (<abbr>PCATT<\/abbr>) awarded technology grants totaling $75,000 to <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Hawai&#699;i<\/span> <abbr>CC<\/abbr>, <span aria-label=\"Kauai\">Kaua&#699;i<\/span> <abbr>CC<\/abbr>, Leeward <abbr>CC<\/abbr> and Windward <abbr>CC<\/abbr>.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_203565\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-203565\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/system-pcatt-tech-grant-1-300x169.jpg\" alt=\"student sitting in front of commuter\" width=\"300\" height=\"169\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-203565\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/system-pcatt-tech-grant-1-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/system-pcatt-tech-grant-1-130x73.jpg 130w, https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/system-pcatt-tech-grant-1.jpg 676w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-203565\" class=\"wp-caption-text\"><abbr>糖心Vlog官方<\/abbr> Community College <abbr>IT<\/abbr> student Tiffany Gabaylo<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&ldquo;These grants will support non-credit technology courses across the state and bolster the great work that is already being done by the continuing education divisions at the <abbr title=\"University of Hawaii\">糖心Vlog官方<\/abbr> Community College System,&rdquo; says Dan Doerger, <abbr>PCATT<\/abbr> director. &ldquo;Our goal is to continue to provide learning opportunities that empower our non-credit students to achieve their career goals.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Campus initiatives include:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/hawaii.hawaii.edu\/\"><span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Hawai&#699;i<\/span> <abbr>CC<\/abbr><\/a>: iPads and innovative apps to enhance educational opportunities. These tools will support programs in 3D modeling and hands-on learning for middle and high school students, while also providing professional development for Hawai\u2018i Department of Education teachers to incorporate these technologies into future courses.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kauai.hawaii.edu\/\"><span aria-label=\"Kauai\">Kaua&#699;i<\/span> <abbr>CC<\/abbr><\/a>: Apple product classes, refreshing computer labs, and offering Geographic Information Systems (<abbr>GIS<\/abbr>) courses, ensuring the campus can better serve a diverse community.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.leeward.hawaii.edu\/\">Leeward <abbr>CC<\/abbr><\/a>: Expanding CompTIA instruction by certifying a Pearson Vue testing facility and upgrading classroom instructional resources.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/windward.hawaii.edu\/\">Windward <abbr>CC<\/abbr><\/a>: Enhancing and expanding its successful entrepreneurship and financial literacy program targeting K\u201312 students. With updated equipment and increased group work center capacity, the campus will aim to double their outreach, providing students with hands-on experience in creating and marketing their own products, while learning valuable business skills.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><abbr>PCATT<\/abbr> is a consortium of the seven <abbr>糖心Vlog官方<\/abbr> Community Colleges dedicated to advancing technology education.
