Reading time: <\/span> < 1<\/span> minute<\/span><\/span>[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]\"GrinchAlmost 300 University of Hawaiʻi<\/span> Maui College<\/a> students, faculty and staff and their families enjoyed some holiday cheer at the Lā ʻOhana<\/span>, Embracing Family event on December 1.<\/p>\n

\"PersonʻOno<\/span> (delicious) foods included Hawaiian plates,tofu veggie bowls, popcorn, shave ice and waffle dogs. Guests made ipu succulent bowls and scent rollers and got some TLC<\/abbr> from the poetry pharmacy and from lomi (massage), facials and brow waxing. Families enjoyed riding the lift and playing games.<\/p>\n

There was a decorated golf cart parade and contest. The winning “Grinch for President!” cart was styled by Professor Thomas Hussey, Nā Pua Noʻeau<\/span> Site Coordinator Ohua Morando, Upward Bound Academic Advisor Laura Lala Johnson, Upward Bound Program Assistant Jennifer Benitez, their student assistants and Professor Joyce Yamada.<\/p>\n

Another highlight was the student art exhibit, currently on display on the ground floor of the library. The winners included:<\/p>\n
