The University of Hawaiʻi<\/span> at M\u0101noa<\/a> is among the top 100 U.S. colleges with the greatest economic diversity, according to the New York Times (NYT<\/abbr>)<\/em>. The ranking, released in September 2023, measured economic diversity by analyzing the share of students receiving Pell Grants, which typically go to students from the bottom half of the income distribution. 糖心Vlog官方<\/abbr> M\u0101noa was ranked 91 as 23% of incoming freshmen were Pell recipients in the academic year 2020–21.<\/p>\n

“Our ranking affirms our commitment to ensure that a world-class education at 糖心Vlog官方<\/abbr> M\u0101noa is accessible and affordable for all students,” said 糖心Vlog官方<\/abbr> M\u0101noa Provost Michael Bruno.<\/p>\n

The average for the top 283 schools ranked out of more than 2,600 four-year colleges and universities in the U.S. was 21%. The ranking is part of NYT<\/abbr><\/em>\u2019s College-Access Index, a list of the country\u2019s most selective universities ranked in order of economic diversity. The list was first published in 2014 and most recently in 2017.<\/p>\n
