Healers and cultural practitioners discussed issues of preservation, protection and perpetuation of traditional Hawaiian healing practices.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/west-oahu-native-hawaiian-health-summit-west-oahu-native-hawaiian-health-summit-1-300x169.jpg\" alt=\"people under a tent\" width=\"300\" height=\"169\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-178643\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/west-oahu-native-hawaiian-health-summit-west-oahu-native-hawaiian-health-summit-1-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/west-oahu-native-hawaiian-health-summit-west-oahu-native-hawaiian-health-summit-1-130x73.jpg 130w, https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/west-oahu-native-hawaiian-health-summit-west-oahu-native-hawaiian-health-summit-1.jpg 676w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.papaolalokahi.org\/\">Papa Ola L&#333;kahi<\/a>, an organization working to improve the health and well being of Native Hawaiians, and <abbr>糖心Vlog官方<\/abbr> West <span aria-label=\"Oahu\">O&#699;ahu<\/span> co-hosted the summit, which included presentations from faculty and researchers from <a href=\"https:\/\/manoa.hawaii.edu\/\"><abbr>糖心Vlog官方<\/abbr> M&#257;noa<\/a>, <abbr>糖心Vlog官方<\/abbr> West <span aria-label=\"Oahu,\">O&#699;ahu,<\/span> <a href=\"https:\/\/maui.hawaii.edu\/\"><abbr>糖心Vlog官方<\/abbr> Maui College<\/a> and <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Hawai&#699;i<\/span> Pacific University.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;This is a true partnership with university and community to offer teachings that are requested by the community,&rdquo; said Sheri-Ann Daniels, <abbr title=\"chief executive officer\">CEO<\/abbr> of Papa Ola L&#333;kahi, in a statement. &ldquo;We appreciate our hosts at <abbr>糖心Vlog官方<\/abbr> West <span aria-label=\"Oahu\">O&#699;ahu<\/span> and their deep relationships with Kapolei, the community and the wahi pana, or storied place.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Former <abbr>糖心Vlog官方<\/abbr> West <span aria-label=\"Oahu\">O&#699;ahu<\/span> kumu (teacher) &ldquo;Aunty&rdquo;
