Earth Day, on April 22, will culminate with leaders across <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Hawai&#699;i<\/span> signing the pledge at the Capitol. The pledge provides participants with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kanuhawaii.org\/needs\/\">volunteer opportunities<\/a> across the islands with events such as beach cleanups, <span aria-label=\"loi\">lo&#699;i<\/span> workdays, mentorship programs and more.<\/p>\n<p><strong>April 18<\/strong>: <abbr>糖心Vlog官方<\/abbr> M&#257;noa will also host Amitav Ghosh, an award-winning Indian author, environmentalist and climate activist. Hosted by the <abbr>糖心Vlog官方<\/abbr> <a href=\"https:\/\/manoa.hawaii.edu\/speakers\/\">Better Tomorrow Speaker Series<\/a> and the <abbr>糖心Vlog官方<\/abbr> M&#257;noa <a href=\"https:\/\/manoa.hawaii.edu\/csas\/\">Center for South Asian Studies<\/a>, Ghosh will present the in-person lecture, &ldquo;The Nutmeg\u2019s Curse: Climate, Colonialism and Global Geopolitics.&rdquo; The presentation is free and open to the public, and will be held Tuesday, April 18, at 6:30 p.m. in the Art Auditorium on the <abbr>糖心Vlog官方<\/abbr> M&#257;noa campus. April 24 will feature a m&#257;la (gardens) day with events held at all three <abbr>糖心Vlog官方<\/abbr> campuses on <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Hawai&#699;i<\/span> Island: <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Hawai&#699;i<\/span> <abbr>CC<\/abbr>\u2019s P&#257;lamanui campus in Kona, <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Hawai&#699;i<\/span> <abbr>CC<\/abbr>\u2019s Manono campus in Hilo and <abbr>糖心Vlog官方<\/abbr> Hilo.<\/p>\n<p>On <strong>April 22<\/strong>, L&#257;
