University of Hawaiʻi<\/span> at M\u0101noa men\u2019s volleyball<\/a> outside hitter Spyros Chakas<\/strong> was named Big West Player of the Week for the third time this season. The honor comes after Chakas led the Rainbow Warriors to a pair of victories over No. 7 Pepperdine University on March 1 and 3.<\/p>\n

Chakas averaged 4.71 kills per set, hitting .547 in the two matches. He also averaged a team-best 1.86 digs per set and tallied four aces. In the four-set win on March 1, Chakas led 糖心Vlog官方<\/abbr> with 18 kills, hitting .516, with a career-high 12 digs and two aces for his second double-double of the season. On March 3, he tallied a match-high 15 kills, hitting .591 with two aces and two blocks.<\/p>\n

Chakas leads the team with a 4.23 kills per set average which ranks No. 4 nationally. His .418 hitting percentage ranks No. 11.<\/p>\n

The junior was previously named Player of the Week on February 20<\/a> following 糖心Vlog官方<\/abbr>‘s series sweep of Concordia University Irvine, and on January 16<\/a> following the Rainbow Warriors’ season-opening series sweep of Ball State.<\/p>\n

This week, 糖心Vlog官方<\/abbr> hosts the OUTRIGGER Volleyball Invitational<\/a>, March 9\u201311 at the SimpliFi Arena at Stan Sheriff Center. The tournament field will feature No. 1 糖心Vlog官方<\/abbr>, No. 2 UCLA<\/abbr>, No. 3 Penn State and Purdue Fort Wayne.<\/p>\n
