Richardson School of Law)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>A student moot court team from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.law.hawaii.edu\/\">William S. Richardson School of Law<\/a> at the <a href=\"http:\/\/manoa.hawaii.edu\/\">University of <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Hawai&#699;i<\/span> at M&#257;noa<\/a> swept the finals in the leading Intellectual Property Law competition to capture two top titles against some of the most elite law schools in the nation.<\/p>\n<p>The four-member team of <strong>Andrea Maglasang-Miller<\/strong>, <strong>Nikki Yamauchi<\/strong>, <strong>Shirley Lou-Magnuson<\/strong> and <strong>Avery Matro<\/strong> took Best Oralist Team and Best Overall Team awards in the <abbr>IP<\/abbr> Moot Court National Championship.<\/p>\n<p>The School of Law team went head to head with Georgetown University Law Center (ranked 14 by <em>U.S. News and World Report<\/em>) and Georgia State University College of Law (ranked 54). Other schools competing in the finals included Brooklyn Law School, University of Iowa, Northwestern University, University of Alabama and University of Washington.<\/p>\n<p>Professor <strong>Danielle M. Conway<\/strong>, one of several team advisor\/coaches, called it an &ldquo;heroic win&rdquo; for the <abbr>ÌÇÐÄVlog¹Ù·½<\/abbr> M&#257;noa team.<\/p>\n<p>Conway said the <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Hawai&#699;i<\/span> team had already made history by sweeping all three categories at the regional competition&#8212;Best Brief, Best Oral Argument and Best Overall Team. &ldquo;It was a feat no other team has done in the 22-year history of the competition.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Intellectual property is a vitally important area of law of increasing significance around the world and in <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Hawai&#699;i<\/span>.
