This message was shared with the students, faculty and staff of the University of Hawaiʻi<\/span> M\u0101noa on March 18, 2021.<\/em><\/p>\n

The Board of Regents approved Phase 2 of the 糖心Vlog官方<\/abbr> M\u0101noa administrative reorganization on April 15, 2021, to be effective July 1, 2021. The reorganization included the official establishment of the offices under the purview of the President and Provost, including the offices of the vice provosts. As we move forward with the implementation and transition, we would like to share the following appointments for our senior leadership positions in the 糖心Vlog官方<\/abbr> M\u0101noa Cabinet:<\/p>\n

  • Laura Lyons<\/strong>, Interim Vice Provost for Academic Excellence<\/li>\n
  • Velma Kameoka<\/strong>, Interim Vice Provost for Research and Scholarship<\/li>\n
  • Lori Ideta<\/strong>, Vice Provost for Student Success<\/li>\n
  • Alexandra (Sandy) French<\/strong>, Chief Business Officer<\/li>\n
  • Nikki Chun<\/strong>, Vice Provost for Enrollment Management (effective September 1, 2021)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    糖心Vlog官方<\/abbr> System Vice Presidents Jan Gouveia<\/strong> and Garret Yoshimi<\/strong> also continue to support our campus as part of the 糖心Vlog官方<\/abbr> M\u0101noa Cabinet in their hybrid roles. <\/p>\n

    All current assistant and associate vice chancellors are being retitled to assistant\/associate vice provosts. In addition, we are actively planning for the leadership of the remaining offices created by the reorganization to include M\u0101noa Cares, Equity Assurance Office, and Global Engagement. Campus leadership will also continue to work on the implementation of the approved reorganization within their own units and determine the appropriate transitional steps for programs and teams. We appreciate the work of the employees, teams, and supervisors who are affected by the reorganization and have already been working together to transition to the new organizational structure.<\/p>\n

    Together with your assistance, we have been able to support the campus community through the challenges and restrictions of the past 16 months and ensure that our mission was fulfilled. As we now prepare for the upcoming academic year, the 糖心Vlog官方<\/abbr> M\u0101noa Cabinet remains dedicated to the goals outlined in the administrative reorganization. Notwithstanding the pandemic impacts, including a challenging and evolving budgetary picture, we will continue to work together on the strategies and initiatives needed to advance student success as we enhance the quality and impact of our academic programs, our research and scholarship, and our contributions to the social and economic wellbeing of the people of Hawaiʻi<\/span>.<\/p>\n
