The <a href=\"https:\/\/uhcc.hawaii.edu\/reimagine\/index.php\">Hana Career Pathways<\/a> initiative supports residents\u2019 employment and the community\u2019s economic recovery.<\/p>\n<p><abbr title=\"University of Hawaii\">糖心Vlog官方<\/abbr> Community Colleges across the state are offering online, in-person and hybrid training to provide college and career advancement opportunities. The training offered ranges from certified nurse assistant, pharmacy technician and medical reimbursement specialist in the healthcare sector; to CompTIA and Amazon web services certifications for <abbr title=\"information technology\">IT<\/abbr>-related jobs; and <abbr title=\"Environmental Protection Agency\">EPA<\/abbr> 608 certification (for technicians who work on air conditioning systems) and pre-apprenticeship training for the skilled trades. Students will also be offered college and career advising, referrals to support services and other financial assistance. <\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;<abbr>糖心Vlog官方<\/abbr>\u2019s Hana Career Pathways will support our unemployed and underemployed residents on every island to upskill and reskill for in-demand jobs that lead to living wage career pathways,&rdquo; said <abbr>糖心Vlog官方<\/abbr> President <strong>David Lassner<\/strong>. &ldquo;We are moving to create educational opportunities that complement traditional degrees and certificates to help generate a thriving post-pandemic future for <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Hawai&#699;i<\/span> and our people.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<h2>Competitive $13.3 million grant<\/h2>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/uhcc-hana-pathway-it-300x169.jpg\" alt=\"man looking at computer\" width=\"300\" height=\"169\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-143114\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/uhcc-hana-pathway-it-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/uhcc-hana-pathway-it-130x73.jpg 130w, https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/uhcc-hana-pathway-it.jpg 676w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>In October 2020, the <abbr title=\"United States\">U.S.<\/abbr> Department of Education (<abbr>USDOE<\/abbr>) <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/2020\/10\/06\/hana-pathways-career-program-funding\/\">awarded more than $13 million to <abbr>糖心Vlog官方<\/abbr><\/a> and its partners to provide students the opportunity to develop new skills in high-demand areas. <abbr>USDOE<\/abbr> said in its release, &ldquo;The recipients will leverage the expertise and facilities available on college campuses to spur entrepreneurship and foster business development and innovation as America begins to recover from COVID-19-related disruptions to education.&rdquo; <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Hawai&#699;i<\/span> was one of only eight states to receive these highly competitive awards.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;During our state\u2019s recovery from the pandemic, this is a critical initiative to remove the financial barriers residents may face to access education and gain the skills and high-value credentials they need to pursue careers that can pay a family sustaining wage,&rdquo; said Workforce Development Council Executive Director Allicyn Tasaka, a Hana Career Pathways partner.<\/p>\n<p><abbr>糖心Vlog官方<\/abbr> expects to provide about 3,000 training opportunities over three years through this initiative.<\/p>\n<h2>Community support<\/h2>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/uhcc-hana-pathway-skilled-trades-300x169.jpg\" alt=\"people looking at building tool\" width=\"300\" height=\"169\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-143119\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/uhcc-hana-pathway-skilled-trades-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/uhcc-hana-pathway-skilled-trades-130x73.jpg 130w, https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/uhcc-hana-pathway-skilled-trades.jpg 676w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Financial support for the Hana Career Pathways was provided by the <abbr>U.S.<\/abbr> Department of Education federal grant #V425G200038, Reimagining Workforce Preparation: Hana Career Pathways, in the amount of $13,370,383.58 for the period of October 1, 2020&#8211;September 29, 2023. Grants from the Ascendium Education Group, <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Hawai&#699;i<\/span> Community Foundation and the Harold K.L.
